Blog vs. Magazine Layout in Search Results

Thank you for your kind attention to this, in advance. Magazine layout works brilliantly for my homepage and category pages, but when it comes to search results, I'd much prefer to have Blog format. Keeping in mind that if someone searches for a specific subject and the results yield only one post, that does not need to be in clip format (Magazine), but rather would appear better in the full width of the loop (Blog) with a larger thumbnail. Even if there are several results, the number will likely be so few that Magazine format becomes unnecessary. Without having to rewrite the code, is there a way to style this or some option I'm missing? Secondarily, in some future version of Pagelines, can we see this as an option? I'm using Pagelines Pro (base).

Catrina, Despite trying to help others here, I'm still trying to figure out how I managed to change that hook to place a Google ad 6 weeks ago. I'm an economist, not a coder so I've no clue what to do in this. Several others seem to have asked about this as well. I do hope the next edition considers this and creates an option, but in the meantime I've no idea how to resolve this.

There isn't a way to turn off Magazine Layout Mode in search results.
