Problem with using 3rd party program to post (MacJournal)

I started using MacJournal. When I post from it though any formatting I have used seems to have the '<' and '>' stripped out. I've tried all the setting in there to no avail. Their support suggested I might have a plugin that was interfering. I've temporarily dissabled all the plugins and still have the problem. I'm wondering if there is something in the theme itself that might be causing this?

I haven't heard any problems from other users, is MacJournal a necessity for you?
