Bug? Excerpt showing up at the top of posts in Framework

Recommended Posts

First, I have to say that I love Pagelines PlatformPro. It has really helped me make the mental leap from being a WordPress dabbler to being a WordPress pro. I started noticing one issue a few days ago, and for the life of me I can't figure out what's going on. The excerpt is showing up at the top of single posts. (see attached screenshot.) And if the post has no defined excerpt text, then all of the post's content shows up duplicated at the top of the post. This is clearly wrong, and I find it hard to believe that PlatformPro would ship with such a big, obvious bug in the blog functionality. Something's fishy. I've tried everything I can think of short of digging into the PHP files. It's possible that this has been happening ever since I installed PlatformPro & the base theme. One final clue: I am developing on localhost on a PC using WAMP Server. Is it possible that there's a PHP or Apache module that needs to be enabled that is off by default in WAMP? Thanks! Matthew my messed up excerpts

Do you have any custom loops or anything in functions.php?

No. (Or not to my knowledge.) I don't know PHP, so I stay away from the PHP files, lest I shoot myself in the foot. I just now looked at the Base theme's functions.php file, and it all *looks* like standard stuff generated as part of the theme.

This turns out to be.. ahem... a feature. (blush) Your suggestion got me to look back at the Blog and Post settings. My Post Layout Mode was set to "Post Layout Mode" which does exactly the "erroneous" behavior I was experiencing. Problem solved. My thanks to you both!
