Custom Nav Bar

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I've read through a lot of the postings here that cover this topic, but I just cannot figure it out... I understand the concept of adding the CSS to the "custom code" area of the platform pro settings, but I'm still having trouble due to the fact that I really do not know CSS. I'm trying to make the main nav bar span the page horizontally with even spaces between the links. Also, change the font... This is the website I'm coping: http://gibmall.com/ Please don't tell! I see they have used flash to implement their navigation, but I would like to do this with Platform Base. Thanks for the help!

You'll want to install the firebug addon for firefox and start learning some basic css. It looks like you'll want to tweak the list element paddings. You could use something like this as a rough starting point: `.main_nav ul li {padding:0 30px}`

Thanks, Tim! I added the code you provided to the custom CSS area. It seemed to have spread the nav bar items across the top, but it does not center the page items. I really would like to have it centered on the page. I've installed firebug and have looked at my site and others, but still do not know how to center the pages in the main nav. Also, how does one change the font? You can see what I'm working with here: http://socreo.com/services Thanks for your help! Max
