I am running my Word Press blog with Pagelines Platform Free Version and have encountered some difficulties in customizing my home page and the search results page. By default, Platform shows 30 most recent posts in the first page of the home page and 30 search results as well in the first page of search results. However, the page is too long and I would like to cut the page to only showing 10 results / posts per page. There isn't a home.php for me to edit and I have found postloop.php but no luck. Does anyone knows how to customize the home page and search results page? Thanks in advance.

Thoughts on header with search / widget functionality
eglashcreative posted a topic in DMS & Legacy Products
Hi all, I'm currently using Crackbar for my fixed navbar, and full-width sidebar for an additional text area beneath my footer (Footer Column Sidebars). What I need to do is create an area under Crackbar that can include a search function (preferably just the search widget, not a plugin), and other uses, including maybe a slider or image/logo. Point is, I'm not sure what to use now that Full Width Sidebar has been used. When I click Drag & Drop / Header, there's nothing to choose from that would allow any of the above. Any ideas? Maybe a Section that I don't see in the Store? Thanks for your time. -
Hi guys. Idea for all you super devs. I can NOT be the only person who needs a search. I ended up w a small widget called "Taxonomy Filter Widget" after searching for weeks. It's not much, but it's all I could find. So, researching pulls up that I'm looking for Multiple Drop downs for Custom Taxonomies, search and filter custom taxonomies, build custom queries using dropdowns of cats and custom taxonomies....phew. Eg., "Find a Restaurant' and then drill down by 'Cuisine', 'Neighborhood", etc. Look on the left on this guy's Wordpress site: http://www.freewilliamsburg.com/ It seems that there are lots of these for Realtors. Anyway, I bet they'd fly out the door. Thanks.

Our search box hasn't been working since we launched the site 6 months ago and I can't figure out how to fix it. is the search box on the top right corner able to be fixed somewhere in the code? If not, can it be removed? You can see the box here: www.inspiredeats.net

Search feature in this forum much less useful than Google
dreamsign posted a topic in DMS & Legacy Products
In short, if I want to find anything in this forum I have to go search via Google. Using the internal search tends to generate no results. If I go search on Google I generally find what I'm looking for, using the same search terms. -
I didn't see how I can disable search within the framework. I want to use Google CSE. Thanks!

Search results to include all post types and sections
etstech posted a topic in DMS & Legacy Products
I noticed that the Pagelines search only shows results for content published in a standard post or page. However, I am creating a site layout that heavily uses sections and other post types including Banners, Boxes, Highlights, Hero Units, and ContentBox. None of the content published in these are being found via the search. This is a HUGE problem! The ideal result should be that if any given Page displays content from a Box, ContentBox, etc., that the Search should show this Page (not just the Box, etc) in the results. Can anyone help out with a solution? -
Welcome to the PageLines.com support forums. In order to expedite community response to your posts, please keep the following in mind when posting: • Search. Answers to many questions can be found in previous forum postings or in the Resource Center. Use the search bar at the top right of the screen to search the entire community (members and forums), or search only forums postings by using the advanced search capability. • Choose informative thread titles. When starting a new thread, choose a title that captures the essence of your question. Try to avoid posting the entire problem in the title. That only makes it more difficult to help you. • Provide details. Aim to provide enough information so that follow-up or clarification questions aren't necessary. Include details about the request you are sending and the response you are receiving. Posting the actual request and error response is always helpful. A link to your site is extremely helpful in expediting our response. • Use the appropriate channel. For technical questions that require you to submit sensitive information, please send an e-mail or private message to the moderator by request. Normally, they only request this if it's necessary to access your site's dashboard. If you have a business / licensing question about Pagelines' offerings or billing, please e-mail us at [email protected]. Please seek Pagelines support via these channels over using private messages. • Post code between [ code] and [ /code] tags. This will help make posts involving code more readable. ( not remember to remove the extra space in the tag ). • A Happy Community. While this is a fully moderated forum, we try to make this a happy place and a community. If you feel you have a great answer for someone's topic, feel free to post your reply. We ask however, that if you have a similar problem you open a new topic. Not all similar problems have the same cause, so it's in your best interests to start a new topic and obtain direct support. • Resolved Topics. While it's possible to post on an already resolved topic, generally, our team is focused on new and open topics, rather than those marked resolved. Likely, you will not get a response. • Have Fun. Technical support issues can be extremely frustrating and angering. Our team endeavors to help as quick and as efficiently as possible. Sit back, take a deep breath, have a cold beverage and post your topic. We find that humor and good will help resolve problems much better than anger or frustration. Enjoy your experience in PageLines' new Resource Center and don't forget... keep smiling!

Resolved search background (loupe) too big causes problems in IE
hansinke posted a topic in DMS & Legacy Products
The default icon that is used for the background in the search box is resized by css. But it does not work in IE8 (it stays the original size). Of course I can make a fix with a smaller image and a stylesheet change. But it would be more practical that is be done in the default framework. Can that be done? -
Resolved Custom Search. Refine search by category and sub-category
joseneas posted a topic in DMS & Legacy Products
Hello everybody, I'm building a new site with Pagelines and would request special assistance. Well, I want to offer a customized search engine on my new site, as this will be an advertising site, where I have registered several companies from various sectors. So, I want to allow users have a filter the search by category. Example: I will create several categories that will be the States of my Country and sub-categories that are the Cities of each state. So, I want that the user can choose which place he wants to search. Well, I searched few plugins they can offer this, but not found. In this case, only the search form, more two 'Select'. Being one for category and another for sub-category that appears when the user selects a category. Well, here's an example of what I want: If someone can give me a hint how I can do this, I'll be very happy and grateful. Or, if you know a plugin that has this functionality, even better! The search system WordPress is very simple! Well they could offer something more sophisticated! Thank you! -

Resolved Need help with Pagelines search bar color
darthkaos posted a topic in DMS & Legacy Products
How can I change the search bar color and focus color to be different than the page background color scheme that I have selected? I have a dark brown as my page background color, but it makes the search bar dark as well which drowns out the search text. http://couturevilletest.tk421grafix.com/wordpress/
