  1. Customize Plugin - like Meganav

    Hi, Meganav seems to have a bug if you upload a Logo with a higher resolution (which actually is useful as it looks then sharper on mobile phones). But on mobile the Logo is then larger than on a desktop. Problem is the following code in the meganav style.css. Simply the "height: auto !important" needs to be removed. @media (max-width: 480px) { style.css?ver=5.0.14:133 body .meganav-logo img{ height: auto !important; } } But how to achieve that? What is the standard method for customizing that? Overriding via CSS / LESS doesn't work - in this case especially because of the !important derictive used in the original CSS I believe. Changing the original CSS is something I don't want to do as it leads into issues when upgrading. Btw: I seem not to be the only one with that issue - anyhow, the solution here (not displaying the Logo on mobile) is not acceptable for me. Thanks, Volker
  2. Ideally, I want to customize the read more link, so instead of being just a plain text link, it should become a button through the css class btn btn-primary. I have followed the instructions mentioned in this post (http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic/23854-how-to-customize-read-more-link/) but for some reason it didn't work. add_filter( 'continue_reading_link', 'custom_reading_link' ); function custom_reading_link( $link ) { $link = str_replace( 'class="', 'class="btn btn-primary ', $link ); // now return new link return $link; } This basically inserts the .btn & .btn-primary classes into the continue reading link. I added the above code, however it didn't work. For some reason, the CSS classes are not added to the link. In order to check whether there was something wrong in general, I tried to customize the text using the continue_reading_link_text (instead of the continue_reading_link) and it worked perfectly fine. It seems to be the case that for some reason the $link parameter does not work. I tried resetting the $link variable to something random (like "http://www.google.com"), but it also didn't change the link. I really don't know what the issue is. The site I tried this on is www.friendsandcooks.com. Thanks for your help!
  3. I would like to know if there are any suggestions for customizing the Wordpress editor in Pagelines. Does this require a plug-in, and if so, are there any recommendations and/or compatibility issues? I am considering Ultimate TinyMCE but am not sure about its integration with Pagelines. Thanks!

  6. Hey, I was wondering how I could change the font type of my "Categories" list in the sidebar. For example right now my sidebar font is showing as Helvetica because under Site Settings > Typography > Text Headers, I have Helvetic chosen. But I would like to use the Google Font "Permanent Marker". Firebug shows that my Categories are grabbing the font type from h3, but since Typography changes all headers at once I do not know how to customize this. Please help! Thank you.
  7. Translation issues

    Hi forum! I am trying to have the PageLines theme framework translated into Danish. Therefore I have downloaded the current translation from the translations center page. I have also downloaded and activated the PageLines Customize plugin from the PageLines framework. There were no 'languages' folder in that theme, so I've added it (which makes the path /wp-content/plugins/pagelines- customize/languages) I've added the language .po-file which was exported using the site. I've renamed it to 'da_DK.po'. It still doesn't work - what am I doing wrong? (the site isn't very clear on this, unfortunately). I also saw that on the page, where PageLines announced the translation feature (*), there was a suggestion to split translations between front- and back end. How is this done? The progress in the Danish translation is very low and it doesn't make sense to translate the back end, as every Dane speaks English. Furthermore I've added a bunch of translations, but they seem to need to be approved. I have a journalism degree, so my Danish is flawless. Can I somehow approve them? (it doesn't seem like there are a lot of Danes using PageLines - at least there's not a lot using the translation framework). Furthermore, how do I make sure that the translations I have already made (but hasn't been approved yet) are included in the downloaded file? (*) http://www.pagelines.com/translation-localization-center/ Thanks in advance!
  8. Hello-- I'd like my website to look like this: (see attached file) This is what it looks like now: http://peppersloughoutfitters.com/the-lodge/ I don't want the content to be all the way to the edge like that, BUT I do want the header to be full width like that. Is there a way to change the content width ONLY? Also, if you go to the main page: http://peppersloughoutfitters.com The background doesn't even appear. Any suggestions? Thank you.
  9. hi all. i'd like to make some changes to the full width fixed navbar. i'd like to reduce the height. this would require removing or changing the height of the rectangle behind my text link, and any padding in the searchform. it will probably be too small/narrow for the search form, actually. how can i put the search form somewhere else, i.e., on the same line as the site title, and to the right of the social icons? thank you! suzy
  10. Customize Hero section

    I'm trying to learn how to customize the hero section using the custom code section. I used this video http://www.pagelines.com/docs/customization-tips as a reference. I don't think I've did it correctly or I've totally mis-understood it. Below is what I've put in the customize code box. Is it correct? .page page-id-63 .pl-hero-wrap row #hero {background-color:#orange; border:solid, 1px, pink;}
  11. On adding to the 'pagelines-customize/functions.php' page I have somehow caused my site to crash and it won't let me access anything but the 'pagelines-customize/functions.php' page via the browser back button and no change i make, even my deleting all my additions and returning it to its original state makes any difference. The error message is: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/content/70/10021170/html/wp-content/plugins/pagelines-customize/functions.php on line 61 Very worrying that I can't get into any of the site now. Site is here: www.irishlitsoc.org
  12. Pinterest Style Layout

    Dear all, This is the first time in to years I am actually looking for something I can't fin in Pagelines. For our syndicated news site, I would like to create a "pinterest style" layout: showing a page filled with pics (and titles, if possible) for our syndicated posts. Any idea as on how to make that happen? Thanks, Eva
  13. Hi there, I've been trying to find a workaround for this, so far unsuccessfully... My client wants all the Featured Images in Blog Index and Single Post pages to be the same width and height, which means the have to be cropped in many cases. I've tried achieving this with the wordpress featured image settings, the pagelines settings and CSS but haven't been able to fully achieve it. if you check the blog index page here: http://www.designsbyfelicia.com/blog/ , you will see that the images are cropped but the surrounding frame or border doesn't display properly (at the bottom edge of pic). I've tried many variations of CSS and targeting the different divs for the image and frame, etc... but haven't found a way to do this properly. My code at the moment is fairly simple: #postloop a.post-thumb.img.fix span.c_img { width: 100%; max-height: 290px !important; overflow: hidden !important; box-shadow: 0 0px 3px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4); } I appreciate your help!
