  1. Hi, I've created a category to just link to resources outside of my blog. I would like to hide the title and metabar for this posts in category-213. I'm using Platform Pro 1.6 Is it any way to do it just with CSS? Can I also style a border or background for this category only by CSS? Thank you very much!
  2. We are in the process of redesigning our website with PageLines. We have most of the content created, now we are just working on some site functionality and styling. Our biggest hurdle at the moment is how to create the staff page. We would like to keep a similar functionality to that of our current site, http://www.pshcs.com/physicians. Our current build of the redesign is available at http://firstclasscreative.com/pshcs/physicians So far we have started setting up boxes and box sets for each of our physician types; audiology, dentisty, optometry, & podiatry, as well as for medical assistants. I can tell so far that it will be fairly easy to make all of the doctors from each category show up, but I am not sure how/if i can get the sort functionality. Would it be easiest to create a separate sub pages for each category and make an overall page for everyone or is their a way to add the sorting function?
  3. Displaying posts categories separately on a single page. Hello, On any "standard" WP template, one can easily display on a single page several blog posts categories, in separate blocs, using the following code and parameters: <h3>Featured Category 1</h3> <ul> <?php $recent = new WP_Query("cat=1&showposts=3&offset=1"); while($recent->have_posts()) : $recent->the_post();?> <li><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></li> <?php endwhile; ?> </ul> <h3>Featured Category 2</h3> <ul> <?php $recent = new WP_Query("cat=2&showposts=3&offset=1"); while($recent->have_posts()) : $recent->the_post();?> <li><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></li> <?php endwhile; ?> </ul> How can this be achieved on PageLines' templates? How can I have on the same page — but in different "blocs" — my posts from Category 1 and those from Category 2? Also — although only partially related — it seems that when a page is set as the "Posts page" in the "Reading" settings, the Blog template take precedence over any other template chosen in the "Edit Page". For example, if my page "Blog" uses "Template 1", where a QuickSlider is set to appear above the Content in the active sections, theQuickSlider is not displayed and instead appears the Callout section added to the Blog page template.
  4. Categories & Carousel

Hello, I am trying to get pages created which show the following: 1) image carousel with images from a certain post category (ie: companies) 2) posts loop from a certain post category (ie: companies) For example, I want pages for the following two categories that have this content: a. Companies - carousel with thumbnails from post category=companies - post loop from post category=companies b. Illustrators - carousel with thumbnails from post category=illustrators - post loop from post category= illustrators I have configured the category page to include a carousel, but it appears that i can only show the thumbnails from one category type (or all of them). This means if I pick the category "companies", the carousel will show companies on all my other category pages. Blah. I am stuck with the following: a. Companies - carousel with thumbnails from post category=companies - post loop from post category=companies b. Illustrators - carousel with thumbnails from post category=illustrators - post loop from post category= companies (BAD) Is there another way to accomplish this? Thanks.... Lisa

  6. Hi there, I have built my site www.eatportesdusoleil.com and created a number of pages. At the moment my posts appear on the home page ONLY, and I would like them to appear on specific pages also. How can I do this? Does it have anything to do with categories? Am usually pretty successful at figuring things out trial and error but absolutely can't work this one out. Would so appreciate the solution! Many thanks Beth.
  7. Postpin Section And Categories

Hi, I updated this section and now my different categories pages display all posts, not only the posts assigned to a specific category (as before). Could you please fix it? My website : Photoreview Thank you in advance for your answer. Jean-Philippe
  8. I can see the different options for customizing the format of the features slider (text on left, text on right etc) when I add a new Feature in the Features Custom Post type section, but I cannot seem to figure out how to change how the features slider looks if I am feeding the slider its content from a category of blog posts.
  9. Hi we would like to globally exclude categories from appearing in the carousel. we have about 30 categories and there are 8 that we need to exclude. function exclude_category( $query ) { if ( $query->is_home ) { $query->set( 'cat', '-1' ); } } add_action( 'pre_get_posts', 'exclude_category' ); i found this on another thread here and was wondering if it could be tailored to achieve the exclusion in carousels. Thanks
  10. How do I customise how the metabar information is shown? For instance: - The list of categories is separated by commas? Can I change that? - Can I make it show only one category? (my previous theme did this, with lower ID number getting priority) - Can I use CSS to style different parts of the information. This: <strong>[post_categories]</strong> <em> [post_date]</em> doesn't work, but I'd like something like that.
