I have a client request to change the aspect ratio of the carousel thumbnails from 4:3 to 16:9. My initial attempts with the CSS resulted in stretched images. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? WP Platform: 3.5.1 PLF: 2.4.2 TIA Rat

How can I add captions to the images in the carousel? 

I've got the NextGen Gallery plugin installed and using it with the carousel feature and it looks good. However, I'd like to do some minor modifications.    I'm looking for a way to add a button that when clicked it would download a pdf spec sheet. This button can either be below the thumbnail or under the image during the slideshow. I'm including two rough of where I'd like to take this.    btw: I'm not married to NextGen, but it seems to be the most popular and it's compatible with the carousel feature.    I realized this is a bit advanced and I don't mind doing the work, but I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction?  Is NextGen the best plugin or does anyone know of a better gallery plug-in for what I'm trying to do? I've seen some plug-ins that extend NextGen - maybe someone knows of a better plug-in for my plug-in? Or is there a different direction I should consider?    

Why isn't it possible to add a Carousel into the Content Area via Drag and drop? Why do we have that limitation or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Nick, Thanks so much for this plugin.  I'm starting to dig in and have tried to add carousels in two sites, one using tags for jigoshop products and another using categories for a wiki plugin.  I'm not getting any errors, but there are no images, so can only assume I'm doing something wrong.  Featured images are set for all. Gardening Website: http://organically.us/wiki/predators/ I have shortcode inserted to show subwikis for predatory insects (category), but no images display.  Plugin for Wiki is inscub_wiki, named my wiki posts "Wikis". Also, I was looking at your better carousel plugin and wanted to know how that is different or better than the BAS plugin, because I'm really trying to insert a carousel in the posts right now. I have adding the code provided in the referenced thread to my functions.php and init.php foles no avail. The code looks like this: [CODE] add_action('pagelines_inside_top_carousel','add_carousel_title'); function add_carousel_title() {?> [/CODE] When I try to use it, I receive a syntax error. Any ideas? Hi,    Not sure how to do this in PlatformPro so would like some advise and guidance please.   I would like to have Pagelines carousel within Content Area of my webpage. So, I have a default page layout and I have content area and pagelines carousel as two sections on the default page. However, I have content above and below carousel so not sure how to set it up.    Can I have carousel set-up in a way whereby I can have content above and beneath the carousel area?    Please advise   Prasanna

I can't get the Carousel to loop endlessly. I'm using a Carousel at the base of the page on this site: http://villageherb.com.au/herbs/ When it runs to the end of the 20 thumbnails, it just stops - leaving a blank area which is unsightly and not useful. Is there a fix for this? If not, do any of the premium carousels solve this problem?

I have just done a clean instal of Pagelines in a clean instal of Wordpress. There is a carousel (quickslider?) with 3 colorful images that appears on my home page above the only post I currently have. Where are the settings for that carousel? It's not a post nor a page, not in features, not in boxes, not in banners

Hopefully this is simple but I can't figure out how to only have one line of pics in the carousel. I have it set to show 5 at a time and now that I have 6 posts, I'm getting 2 lines of pics in the carousel. Hi, I am trying to hide the carousel section (which is displaying thumbnails from recent posts) in IE8, because it doesn't display properly. I have done this for mobiles with: body.mobile .section-carousel { display: none; } and its working fine. I have tried the same for IE8 by replacing body.mobile with body.ie8 and it's having no effect. Adding: body.ie8 .crsl { display: none !IMPORTANT; } Makes the carousel disappear but also makes the background image disappear! The carousel is only on certain pages so this only affects those pages with the carousel. Any ideas?

Evening All I am looking to create a carousel affect on my website, which consists of 13 scrolling images, I only want to show 4 at a time, with left and right navigation. These images relate to Pages (not posts) and I therefore need to have a link from the image to the relevant page. I have looked through the forums seen a variety of old options (+ none of them seem to specifically relate to my request), but wondered if someone could give me best advise please? I have installed the NextGen plugin (but for some reason the images are not loading & not sure the Flickr one is relevant) + I can't see a way of linking this to the relevant pages. Your assistance/advice, as always, greatly appreciated.

The closest one was from a girl who paid someone on fiver to help her. Here's what I tried so far: Went to Gallery > Options > Effects > Set Javascript Thumbnail Effect to ‘None’ Installed the NextGEN Custom Fields plugin Created a new custom field for images. put "Link" as a custom field and added the page urls in each image "Link" field. I would like to change the background of the caraousel to show up as transparent, or with a 10% black overlay or something like that. How do I go about doing that in the Editor?

I have set the carousel settings (see attached screen grab) to display nextgen thumbnails but the carousel is not working. Instead it is showing all of the thumbnails and no scrolling effect. Any idea what may be going on? Here is the page I am troubleshooting: http://onetelone.com/instant-quote/

Pagelines>Frameworks 2.4>Carousel settings. I set up a page with multiple carousels on it. Im using it as an examples page for our products. Each carousel is a different material (i.e. leather, wood, ceramic...). I would like to identify each carousel with the name of the material (again, Leather, Wood, Ceramic...). Question #1) How can I add add text to identify the carousels and/or add text between the carousels? Question #2) How do you get rid of the background of the carousel or make it less obvious? Hello. First time poster, longtime pagelines fan. I'm trying to configure the carousel metadata to use the NextGEN Gallery Carousel Template instead of the default template. After a bit of tinkering, I've been able to get pagelines to display the carousel in the expected nextgengallery template format by specifying in the NextGen Gallery ID For Carousel (Carousel Page Template / NextGen Mode) box a shortcode: [nggallery id=1 template=carousel] which is super but it also displays on the rendered page some unwanted text, specifically "template=plcarousel". I did a Web search and can see a couple of people asked about this in the past but the threads are old and closed and don't have a resolution. And I've found a few sites which look like they use pagelines and have the same problem. When searching I also found a(n) (old) listing of the code for /sections/carousel/sections.php and can see the following line: echo do_shortcode('[nggallery id='.$ngen_id.' template=plcarousel]');[/code] which I presume is responsible for generating the "template=plcarousel" text I can see on my page. Oh, I think I see what's happening...because I'm specifying a template attribute in the shortcode in the carousel_ngen_gallery input text box it doesn't expect the second template attribute value in the carousel/sections.php. If my understanding is correct, is there any way you could extend the carousel metadata to allow users to specify which nextgengallery template type they want to use in the carousel nextgengallery metadata? And is there anything I can do in the meantime to work around it? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello, I am trying to get pages created which show the following: 1) image carousel with images from a certain post category (ie: companies) 2) posts loop from a certain post category (ie: companies) For example, I want pages for the following two categories that have this content: a. Companies - carousel with thumbnails from post category=companies - post loop from post category=companies b. Illustrators - carousel with thumbnails from post category=illustrators - post loop from post category= illustrators I have configured the category page to include a carousel, but it appears that i can only show the thumbnails from one category type (or all of them). This means if I pick the category "companies", the carousel will show companies on all my other category pages. Blah. I am stuck with the following: a. Companies - carousel with thumbnails from post category=companies - post loop from post category=companies b. Illustrators - carousel with thumbnails from post category=illustrators - post loop from post category= companies (BAD) Is there another way to accomplish this? Thanks.... Lisa
