  1. We have been customizing sites with the old framework for about a year and loved it.  We could easily add hooks into the site (for example a line under the post title or a footer design at the bottom of the site) but now it seems we cannot do that without going through all the hoops of creating a child theme?    Please tell me I am missing something here.  We have been with pagelines for almost a year now and have used the custom CSS code plus the hooker plugin to make some awesome custom sites.  Now, it seems a lot more complicated?    I have read the docs on hooks a couple times and this just seems way more complicated than it used to be.  Are we getting hooker back for DMS?   And I cannot even attempt to create a child theme because the base theme is not available for download.     Please help!
  2. How to import hooks?

Currently the hooker plugin doesn't recognize a hook for the section "navable"... how can I import a hook for it to recognize it?   You can see from this thread (http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic/27917-logo-in-navable-menu/) that Nick did create the hook for his section and called it navable_after_search but it isn't showing up in the Hook Editor or Action Map so that I can add to it via Hooker.   When I export a hook that I've created in Hooker, it looks like the following:    hookers.pimp   {"1371962115":{"hook":"pagelines_before_branding_icons","content":"<a href=\"tel:1-888-609-0882\" id=\"phone-right\" class=\"zmb\"><i class=\"icon-phone icon-spin\"><\/i> 1-888-609-0882<\/a>","php":false,"error":false,"priority":"10","enabled":"on","page_id":[""]}} Do I need to create a similar file to be able to recognize Nick's newly created hook "navable_after_search"?   Thanks in advance! Steve
  3. Hooker and styling

Hi I just started using Hooker and it's relatively straightforward to get elements landing on the page. I created a hook with a div class for an image 1100px wide to site above the footer (this is the link to my messy testing server http://testserver.nicholaspealldesign.com/ where you can see two hooks I added). What I'm stuck on is getting this image to sit under the content section. Thx for any assistance (using FB and W3 ref already...)
  4. Would it be possible to sort hooker's list of hooks alphabetically (dropdown when adding a new hook)? It would simplify the currently tedious task of finding hook names in a list which order makes no sense to me (I am not a professional in that field). Thank you.
  5. I want to show a particular text at the top of a particular category. Apparently I can't directly post php tags in hooker so I am using http://wordpress.org/plugins/allow-php-in-posts-and-pages/ to work around that. It works fine. In hooker however I can't directly post pagelines shortcodes as they don't get recognized. HOWEVER if I call them via php include then they display as intended. The following example works: [ php ] if ( is_category( 'my-slug' ) ) { include 'my-file.html'; } else { echo ''; } [ / php ] But this one doesn't: [ php ] [pl_blockquote cite="XYZ" pull="right"] A great quote[/pl_blockquote] [ / php ] even though all that is in my-file.html is [pl_blockquote cite="XYZ" pull="right"] A great quote[/pl_blockquote] So this makes me curious: what am I missing and how can I avoid using a php include to show pagelines shortcodes in hooker?
  6. Well I'm just a question-asking fool this week! FYI- my site is in maintenance mode. So, I needed to use hooks to add change/add social icons. I didn't have the brain space to figure out hooks, so I bought the hooker plugin. I added the following html to pagelines_before_branding_icons hook: <div class="icons" style="bottom: 12px; right: 1px;"> <a class="facebooklink" href="https://www.facebook.com/khadijaannette"target="_blank"> <img alt="Facebook" src="http://khadija-annette.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/icons/facebook.png"> </a> <a class="pinterestlink" href="http://pinterest.com/khadijaannette/" target="_blank"> <img alt="Pinterest" src="http://khadija-annette.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/icons/pinterest.png"> </a> <a class="twitterlink" href="https://twitter.com/KhadijaAnnette" target="_blank"style="opacity: 0.5;"> <img alt="Twitter" src="http://khadija-annette.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/icons/twitter.png"> </a> <a class="tumblrlink" href="http://tumblr.com/khadijaannette/" target="_blank"> <img alt="Tumblr" src="http://khadija-annette.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/icons/tumblr.png"> </a> <a class="linkedinlink" href="http://www.linkedin.com/in/khadijaoconnell"target="_blank"> <img alt="LinkedIn" src="http://khadija-annette.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/icons/linkedin.png"> </a> <a class="emailink" href="mailto:ka@khadija-annette.com/" target="_blank"> <img alt="Email" src="http://khadija-annette.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/icons/email.png"> </a> <a class="rsslink" href="http://khadija-annette.com/feed/" target="_blank"style="opacity: 0.5;"> <img alt="RSS" src="http://khadija-annette.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/icons/rss.png"> </a> The icons are great and lined up nicely and exactly where they are supposed to be except... 4 of them are repeated on the left side of the page above my fixednav bar. What in the world is going on?? Also, I just noticed that the code for the errant icons actually matches the Pagelines code for the included social icons that you edit in Site Options. WHY? What in the world did I do wrong this time? ***UPDATE*** Weird freaking other thing happened in sync with the extra icons- my logo is no greyed out or has some opacity applied when I'm not hovering on it. This is new. I didn't do this. Well, I obviously did it but I don't know how. Oh god, make it end. Bree
  7. Hi all, I've just bought the hooker plugin because I am interesting into adding custom js to some of my post/pages. I have seen here [http://www.pagelines.com/store/plugins/hooker/#] the next features: Assign hooks to specific pages/posts easily. Toggle hooks on/off. The question is... how? Because when I am creating a new Hook (using this plugin), I can select many locations but I can not see my actual pages or post... Any advice? Thanks.
  8. I just installed Hooker on a site using the Base child theme and, after activating it and navigating to the front end of the site, I saw that it went blank. The backend was fine so I deactivated Hooker and the front-end of the site returned to normal. I deactivated all plugins, reactivated Hooker, and the front-end of the site went blank again. It's hosted on WP Engine, which comes with a staging area that basically disables their caching and their optimization technology. I've tested it on a staging area for the site, with all plugins disabled except Hooker, and get a mostly blank page on the front-end with the following message (that I wasn't seeing on the live site): Fatal error: Call to a member function add_menu() on a non-object in /nas/wp/www/staging/dawsonsites/wp-content/plugins/hooker/hooker.php on line 44 I've tried switching from the Base theme to Pagelines, but there's no change. I'm all out of ideas. Any suggestions?

  10. Hooker

Okay, so, this is a WP question of sorts, but it also applies to PL, because I think it's related to the Hooker. Undoubtedly my fault. So, here goes: PHP Warning: call_user_func_array() [<a href='function.call-user-func-array'>function.call-user-func-array</a>]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'google_leaderboard_ad' was given in /home1/suzytest/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 406 line 406 call_user_func_array($the_['function'], array_slice($args, 0, (int) $the_['accepted_args'])); after digging around, i found that it is calling wp-content/plugins/pagelines-customize/functions.php */ add_action('pagelines_inside_top_branding', 'google_leaderboard_ad'); i know that this is the problem, but when i try to remove the above i can't access site. which part of the above do i remove? also, this is weird because i used hooker to put that in, and i used hooker to remove it. but, apparently, hooker did not remove it, although it seems as if it did on my admin. from the codex: "It is also worth noting that you may need to prioritise the removal of the action to a hook that occurs after the action is added. You cannot successfully remove the action before it has been added." apparently removing this action calls for more than just deleting that line in the customize/functions.php am i on the right track, and can you guide me through? thank you.
