First, I'd like to thank you folks for a wonderful product. I've found your theme and support to be excellent thus far and would recommend this without hesitation to others. As for my latest mod, I'd like to insert html code above and below the first post on the main page and to have that same code appear when a single post is viewed. Could you please tell me what file to modify and where to insert the code? The blog is at http://timiacono.com/

You'll want to edit the _posts.php file. If you explain in more detail what you'd like to do I can give you more guidance. We'll have to do some interesting coding work as we'll be inserting code into the Wordpress Loop

Here are some before and after screenshots of what I'd like to do: TMTGM_Before.jpgTMTGM_After.jpg The red arrows indicate the two items I want to add, but they should only appear once per page - on the main page as well as on the individual post page.

I figured out how to insert the code above, but not below.

so you want to insert something after the first post? That's a little tricky since it loops through all of them at the same time.. We've had people do it though... This: http://www.dannyfoo.com/blog/blog-development/how-to-insert-horizontal-banner-between-1st-and-2nd-post/ might be the best way to go about it.
