Thanks for that response Andrew - that clarifies the reason. I realise that this may be a 'feature' of the system you use but it would be useful for readers to be able to acknowledge and/or nominate a best answer that has been helpful to them even though they were not the original topic poster. Food for thought? In the meantime, you may want to consider modifying your introduction to the Karma system to make it clear that this only applies to the original poster of a question. e.g. _______________________ How It Works The person who posts the original question (or a system admin) can give up to two people "karma" by marking their responses as the best answer. You can select your own responses as well, but you can't give yourself karma.
