DMS 2 Why does .modal have its own font-family, font-weight and color definitions?

And the same here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kgw7arj8nng8zp7/Screenshot%202014-08-15%2012.55.34.png

I've inserted the typekit script as a function to my head hook and used

body{

font-family: "proxima nova";

}

I wouldn't want to override all kinds of specific elements like input, modal, modal h4 etc.
How should I proceed now and in the future when I want the entire DMS to use a custom font using typekit or @font-face?

Thank you again very much.

I'm trying to use

add_filter( 'pless_vars', 'my_pless_vars' );

function my_pless_vars( $vars ){
$vars['plBaseFont'] = '"proxima nova";';
return $vars;
}

on my functions.php but cannot make it work

So

1. Why are there specific sections like the ones I've showed where the font-family is specified again? Wouldn't it be ok just to define one for body and one for headings?
2. How can I make the function to work?

Thank you!
