DMS 2 Modal Window Via Link

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi

Is it possible to add a Pagelines DMS Modal window via a link? I have a number of links that I wish to trigger the same modal and a short code won't work within my custom PHP. If possible how can I add the modal content?

Thanks

Glennyboy

Hi,

No thats not how the modals work unfortunately. The modal shortcode is based off of Bootstraps modal here - http://getbootstrap.com/2.3.2/javascript.html#modals

As you can see they can not be used via a link as the content needs to be place too. There may well be away of doing it, but I haven't encountered it. If you want to have modals open via a link you will be best off using a plugin.

Is that adding all that code to the <head> of the site ?

Yes as I wanted my Modal on every page... it could have been placed it in a zero height/hidden NextBox or text section also....

Yeah, I don't really like that, I like to keep the <head> bloat free. If you're happy to use that method, then cool, but I wouldn't like all that in my <head> tag.

Figured that was your point... it doesn't bother me too much in this case as the Modal definitely needs to open on every page.... As I say the code could just as easily be placed in PL Next Box with a height 0px / visibility hidden which given your comments I may opt for...

I've updated my example with Embed Options. I hope others find this useful.
