Using LightBox ColorBox with iBox

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi

I am using the DMS free edition to create a website.

I am trying to use secondary lightboxes to display a pop up window of another locally hosted page from an iBox. In the link section, I put in just the link for the page, and in the class section I put "lbp_secondary".

When I then click on the link, a lighbox window pops up, but displays no content. The link is showing when I hove the cursor over it, but for some reason it doesn't display in the lightbox.

It's a pretty basic website with no plugins except for lightbox, limit login attempts and simple shortcodes.

I have installed DMS version 1.1.1 and it's running on Wordpress 3.9.1

I have attached a picture of the offending iBox with the broken link.

I've tried all the suggestions in the FAQ, but no luck. Please help!

Thanks, Duncan.

Hi,

I have tried to use the plugin, but it just doesn't seem to work, you will need to contact the developer of the plugin for assistance.

Thanks Danny

It seems that lightbox has conflict issues with Wordpress 3.9.

I'm not sure if that is my problem, but quite a few other people have reported errors when using 3.9

If I find a solution, I will post it here.

I've devised a solution that works, but it's a bit of a hack.

Instead of using the fields for the link and class, just put the link (with class attribute) in the text field of the ibox.

In order for everything to work though, you must add </p> after the link, or else it messes with the other lightboxes.

Here's what worked for me:

<a class="lbpModal" href="http://yourwebsite/page/">more</a></p>

This means that the Lightbox plug-in itself is not the problem, so it must be how DMS integrates the class attribute and link.

I hope that helps?
