Padding and Margins oh my

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi,

I spent hours even days, trying to get the spacing right on different components of every website I build in DMS.

Figuring out what the selector is is never easy, and can be super frustrating.

1. I would love to see actual SECTIONS that can be dragged and dropped for spacing ..above and below SECTIONS

2. I would love to see more control of each SECTION in regards to its padding and margin

Thx

DG

All sections are going to contain either margin, padding or both, if they don't then they will look very odd. To reduce the padding, you will want to use custom CSS, try adding the following to your custom CSS (untested).

#simple_navud9quvf .pl-section-pad,
#simple_navud9quvf .simplenav,
#simple_navuogxkqk .pl-section-pad.
#simple_navuogxkqk .simplenav {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}

Hi DG,

1. Not sure what you mean exactly, can you provide an example or a screenshot ?

2. This is already been reported and our developer are aware.

!. I meant a "spacing" section..or component

So you could drag and drop in a space between 1 section and another.

Ok a good sample of my frustrations can be seen on the header here....

I have 2 simple menus stacked..and they come with huge spacing between them.

Also there is a huge space underneath the menu.

I want to always define the spacing myself, instead of having to hunt for the selectors and modifying it heavily in CSS.

I have tried adding  (but it did not help)

.hentry p {

padding: 0px;
margin: 0px;
}
