Question

Hi! my blog is www.someoddgirlblog.com and I would like to add the "add comment" link at the bottom of each post on the homepage while leaving it in the post meta info. How do I do that? Thanks so much!

OK, I did a quick snippet for you, this should do the trick, it may require additional styling or HTML so you can wrap it in a div etc.., but should get you on the right track.

HI OddGirl

In order to add something like that, you will need to use a hook. For more information on hooks see our documentation - http://docs.pagelines.com/advanced/hooks

Also, see as how you only want this on to appear on the homepage, you will need to use the WordPress conditional in your hook too - http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_home

Thanks Danny! I frankly have never used Hooks before. Do you have an easier to understand tut so I can get this last tweak fixed? We've added the "add comment" link in the post loop by copy/pasting code to the functions.php file before but not with this method.

If you have added code to the functions.php file before and it was to do something similar, then that was likely a hook.

Our documentation is quite simple, especially in comparison to other guides.

Thanks I'll take a look at these. My hubs is helping me, who is much more code savvy, and he couldn't get the correct code figured out either yesterday so I hope a little more info will make it clearer. Thanks again!
