DMS 2 odd scrolling behavior

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi Everyone,

I noticed an odd behavior on my home page. Site is http://nela-pow.org/

When I scroll down the home page, my footer area (and the bit of padding above it) scroll over my revslider area. I checked scroll behavior settings on each section (as well as each page) and I can see nothing that would invoke this action. I have some custom code (included here)

#pl_areaud98d4 {
  height: 0px;
}
.navbar.navbar-content-width {
    border-radius: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
    font-size: 18pt;
    min-height: 0px;
    padding: 0px 0px;
}

/*--iBox--*/
.ibox-wrapper .ibox-text h4 {
  color: #ffffff;;
  margin-bottom: 5px;
}

.ibox .ibox-text {color: #ffffff}

body.fixed_width #page {padding-top: 0px;}

#header { margin-top: 0px;}

#mediaboxui27s8  .pl-section-pad {
  padding: 0;
}

.revslider-container h2.slider-text {
  margin-top: 7em;

}

.revslider-container h2.slider-text {

  background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0.5);
}

.revslider-container h2.slider-text small {
           line-height:.90em;

}

.tp-bullets{display:none; visibility:hidden;}
.tp-bannertimer{display:none; visibility:hidden;}

.row.row-set > [class*="span"] {
    width: 48%;
}
.revslider-container {
  width: 90% !important;
  position: center;
  padding: 0;
  max-height: 600px !important;
  overflow: hidden;
}

.revslider-container {
  left:52px;

  width:90% !important;
}

I have removed all of the above and the issue still happens...it appears to be related to revslider as the home page is the instance of it I have and I did not see this before I removed flipper and began working on incorporating revslider for the section.

Anyway, I have looked at the obvious so any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

That's because the code I gave is for Webkit browsers which are Chrome and Safari, FireFox is powered by Gecko. Therefore, replace the code I gave you with the following:

#revsliderurppd4w .pl-area-wrap {
-webkit-transform: none !important;
transform: none !important;
}

In the template area for where you've added the slider you have a parallax effect enabled, which is why it appears to go over the slider.

Click on the edit icon for the section area and disable the scrolling effect - http://screencast.com/t/roAmsiiKXWLs

Hi James,

I went over each and every part of this...and could not find parallax enabled. I had done an experiment at one point and turned it on but I do not see any section with it turned on now. I moved the revslider into the header area and then deleted the mid section of the page...still had the effect. I then moved my revslider section below the header and everything scrolled correctly...I then added a new section to the middle and moved the revslider back and then saved/published it and it went back to the odd behavior. I am puzzled. Should I rebuild the page and add my custom css back in after I get all the pieces arranged? Not sure...Thanks!

That effect is most certainly Parallax. Therefore, it has to be configured somewhere. If you contact our helpdesk with the following information, our staff will login and take a look.

Very strange, I've logged in and checked everything and there is no parallax scroll set in the settings, it seems to be in the rev slider unit as regardless where you put it in the layout its gives the same result. As far as I'm aware we haven't made any changes to the rev slider core.

I replicated in my own site so I'm assuming this is built in now, I will ask the core team if this is the case and see if there is a way to remove this. Jfi - your widgets don't seem to have any content in them when I logged in.

@mods if needed login details are in admin notes at the top of the page.

Thanks for the update James...I was puzzled as well.  Perhaps a custom CSS entry can block the behavior?

Not from what I can see, I've tried a few css fixes but it looks like it will be a jquery fix or someway of removing the class that's embedded in the section.

Add the following CSS to your custom CSS and see if this resolves your issue.

#revsliderurppd4w .pl-area-wrap {
-webkit-transform: none !important;
}

Hi Danny,

I believe that this is working. I have to get my other custom CSS back in and activate plugins...but it appears that everything is staying still when I scroll.

Update: It looks alright in Chrome but when I look in Firefox it is still behaving incorrectly (the same odd scrolling).

...another update from this side: I checked Safari, Firefox and Chrome. The code that Danny offered seems to work on Chrome and Safari but not Firefox. When I add the rest of my custom CSS Chrome then has a less severe version of the parallax scroll behavior as does Safari.

Thanks,

nadielp

Ok I wasn't aware of that. This appears to work. The Slider and content below are staying in place now.

Thanks, Danny! That did it.
