Featured Images, A Problem

Question

Posted · Report post

I understand how to assign a featured image to a post. But I need to use a same image for particular type of posts. So in this case, I have to upload the same image to all different posts, and this image gets renamed for all these posts. If I try to use the add image by URL, then it doesn't allow to add that image as featured image. In Thesis, there's a field as "post image". Is there a similar feature where we can just enter the image URL for the post so I don't have to upload the same image with different file names for different posts?

yes, a custom field would work... ` <?php if(pagelines_show_thumb( get_the_ID() )): // Thumbnails ?>

<?php the_post_thumbnail('thumbnail');?>
<?php elseif(get_post_meta($post->ID, 'yourcustomfield', true)):?> <?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, 'you <?php endif; ?> ` I didn't test this... but it's the general idea.

This is a good point, we've had a couple requests for something like this... Easy enough to add to an update. If you want to add it yourself, you'll need to edit: `template.postloop.php`
