Question

Posted · Report post

Hi there! Where would I find the options or code that controls when the navi section transitions from a normal navigation bar to the mobile bar (that shows the three lines indicating the menu).

I also need to remove the search area from the mobile version of the navi section. Even when toggled to hide the search in the normal view, it still shows in the mobile view.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I believe the code that changes the menu from desktop menu to mobile is some media query breakpoint in the themes .less -files, and can be overridden in a child-themes .less files.
Can you tell where I could find this file? I have played with it in DMS1 but now not sure if I can find it.

Thanks!

Ok I believe I found it.
It's dms/dms/sections/navbar/style.less

Line 409:

@media (max-width: @resPortraitTablet){

and
Line439:

@media (min-width: @resPortraitTablet + 1) {

1. As ketri mentioned, you will need to use a media query.

2. Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to remove the search field from the mobile menu without make edits to the core code. Which is something we do not recommend nor support. However, I have already added this to tracker i.e. the ability to disable search on the mobile menu via an option.

}

Yeah that code is hiding it, not removing it. I never provided that code as you said you wanted to remove it, which isn't actually possible without editing a core file, which we do not recommend nor support.
