Ellen,

Read thru posts here about anchors auto-opening accordions with link anchors (which is a feature I am looking for)...

noticed on one of the links (on a user page)... that the link looks like this.. www.mysite.com/pagename/#ac469-accordions-ufi5a3

Can we get to name that other than the section anchor name?

such as..

www.mysite.com/pagename/#nameofaccordiontitle (or something like that)

and...

Does this also work with your Tab Section ? Auto opening?

Please advise.

Thanks

@alisamski I know the links look horrible! I have it setup if you use the shortcode you can give the accordions their own id, so the link if you gave it an id of faqs would be #ac3717-faqs (the 3717 is the accordion post id). I could change the post id to post-slug and look at changing the order of how it shows in the link so maybe looking like #faq-post-slug.

The accordions id or set needs to be in the link hash as well as the accordion id (post id or slug) in case there are multiple sets on the page and the different options that you can do with each set.

So, what I am thinking is if you are adding the Accordions using the section and the options in the DMS Editor, then I could look at adding a way so you can change some of those values (ie the set name and the post id to slug).

Let me look at doing that in the section and the shortcode.

Tabtastic you also can link to a tab and have it show, however no shortcode at this time. I can look at adding the same kind of options in Tabtastic as in Accordions -- rename the tab set and the post id to post slug.

Sound like a plan?

Ellen,

I am setting up some standard accordions and tabs now... to see what the client prefers for the look...

I like the look of accordions and the way they slide..

We will be adding shortcode tables inside as content... using Table Press... and wanted the linking option to auto open up the accordion/table..

Great that you can work with me in modifying the URL on that..

Should have an answer to which one today (hopefully)...

Alisa

@alisamski It looks like something I can do in the next update. Let me know your preferred format and I'll try and have the update by beginning of week.

@ellenmva Looks like we will be going with accordions...
if we can have the url have the title of the accordion that would work...

So workflow...

Click on a link on another page...

Goes to the page with accordion > opens accordion > shows content area inside the accordion.

URL suggestion:  page/accordion-title (or similiar)?

Not sure how that would happen.. but better than the section showing inside the url.

?

@alisamski I'm able to do page/set_id-accordion-slug where you can make a unique set_id. Still need to have that in case there are other accordion sets on the page. But at least it will make more sense.

Working on putting the option in yet keeping the old looking links for those who have Accordions already setup, don't want to mess up anyone with an update.

Should finish in the next couple of days. Will let you know when updated.

Best,

Ellen

@alisamski You can use the Accordions now, just won't have the pretty links yet. Once you update you can then set the options and get the prettier looking links.

@alisamski Finally have the update. You will see a new option set for Accordion Pretty Links and you can set an Accordions ID for the set as well as using either the individual Accordion ID or Slug in the permalink.

You should see an update for Accordions shortly in your wp-admin.

Best,

Ellen
