DMS 2 REVO BROKE and BOOT STRAP DISAPPEARED

Question

Posted · Report post

When I updated to DMS 2 it broke my REVO theme. So I restored the old files and everything was fine. But then I tried to change themes and update directly with DMS as the theme, still no luck. So I decided to go with the flow and now I can see the new features.

The problem.
My Revo theme is neutralized if I want to use DMS two.

So I put on my big boy pants and moved on only to discover that the boot strap icons that I worked so hard to code into the menu bar are now gone. Any ideas fellas? I want to play in the reindeer games too, but if this turns into a repeat of last summer...
Any words of wisdom?
Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. <3

PageLines DMS 2.0 now uses Font Awesome 4, so instead of using icon-home you need to use fa fa-home and so forth, updating your code so that it uses the new fa code will resolve your issue.

Hi,

I am not sure, but if you're experiencing issues with Revo it's likely that the theme isn't compatible with DMS 2.0.

How did you add those icons to your menu, can you provide the code used, as well as link to the site in question please.

send me a direct message to jdcogmon@gmail.com I am not comfortable with posting the ip address here due to best practices for security Danny. Unless of course you have another suggestion.

OK, my shift is about to end so what I suggest is you contact our helpdesk and provide them with the IP address and a link to this topic so they have a reference.

Thank You so much Danny!
I found the learning curve on that a little frustrating, but I think I decoded it.
I basically had to replace all instances of
icon-globe
with
fa fa-globe   (or whatever icon one uses from font awesome)

The problem is that it doesn't seem entirely consistent.
fa f-time needed to be fa icon-time   <i class="fa icon-time"></i>
also
fa fa-sun needed to be fa icon-sun <i class="fa icon-sun"></i>     but the trade-off on the learning curve is that you can rotate things by degree or make them spin.
<i class="fa icon-sun fa-spin"></i>

Are there any plans on making this more consistent code? or am I missing something with the icon vs fa change?

In any case, thank you for your patience and support DANNY. I really appreciate it.  :thumbsu:
