DMS 2.0 and Polylang problems

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi,

A while ago Simon posted that DMS 2.0 would be fully compatible with Polylang but I'm not so lucky to experience this (yet) ;-).

But maybe I'm doing something wrong. I notice the following on my website www.janpeeters.nl

1) Text boxes don't translate. I've tried to make separate templates for Dutch and English pages hoping that text boxes would stay locked to those templates but they stay the same when I switch languages. Only page/post loop sections translate properly.

I've checked that I'm only synching 'featured images' between languages.

You can see this happening on the following pages:

Dutch

http://www.janpeeters.nl/over-jan/

English (should be)

http://www.janpeeters.nl/en/about-jan/

Thanks for some ideas.

Thanks, Jan

Hi Simon, what happened was that when I translate one text box, it is also translated on the other languages page. It then came to me that maybe it was leftover from the previous local/global functionality. Removing and adding a new text box in the proper language solved it. Thanks

The text boxes on each page need to be translated, they dont auto translate.

Ahh, yea also, when you 'duplicate' the page in polylang, its going to copy that textbox with the same ID as the other one, you will need to delete/create a new box anyway.

You have to keep each page different.

Good to know about the text box ID's too, now I understand why it occurs. Thanks.
