Not all page templates show when creating a post/page

Best Answer James B , 25 January 2014 - 10:28 AM

Hi Jen

Author pages are created dynamically inside Platform. Depending on your permalink structure, I'm using the postnames it look like

http://www.yoursite....hor/authorname/

If you go to a post, click on the author name and it will take you to the dynamic post page for all posts created by that author.

I'm finally getting around to organizing my site http://www.cheekychickblog.com from the inside out, and now that I have another contributing writer, I thought "author" pages for us both would be in order. I thought they were somehow supposed to be automatically created, but I have no idea where those would be. So I thought maybe I had to make them, however when creating a new page, the only template options available to me are Templates 1-5. Nothing else.

I've already disabled every plugin, and still those are the only available page template options. Are all other templates now obsolete? Any help on this would be fantastic...

Jen

Hi James :-)

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. When I click on the author, I get my 404 page :-( I'm not very proficient with coding and such, and never created any separate "permalinks", as I thought those were automatically created. If this is a permalink error, may I ask how would I go about fixing it so that my author pages will show up properly?

Thanks in advance :-)

Jen
