Using The Full Revolution Slider Plugin Inside of Flatten

Flatten Revolution Slider Teeth Grtting

Best Answer Danny , 20 January 2014 - 12:53 PM

Hi,

There are two methods to use the Revolution Slider plugin with DMS.

1. You can use the FullBox section created by one of our store devs and add the shortcode.

2. Use a hook. The most professional method of adding a slider such as Revolution Slider or Layer slider would be to use a hook.

You can download the Full Box and Full MediaBox section from here - https://github.com/p.../DMS/issues/537

If you want to use hooks, see our documentation - http://docs.pageline.../advanced/hooks

You could also use hooker and/or ActionMap which is included in the DMS Pro Tools plugin which will make your life much easier.

My preference and our developers preference would be to use a hook, but the choice is up to you, some users prefer the ease of using the shortcode, as they're not comfortable with hooks.

Website URL: www.ridgelinepro.com
Framework Version:  DMS
WordPress Version: 3.8
Plugins in Use: Revolution Slider, Business Branding, Better iBoxes, DMS Pro Tools, Duplicator, etc
Server/Host: Dreamhost

I was wondering if there is any way to use the full Revolution Slider plugin from CodeCanyon within the Flatten Theme.  I purchased the full version, and it has a drag and drop interface for the slider which I have found very easy to use.  I have been able to build animated sliders just the way I want them, even with my super novice coding skills.  The Flatten theme has its own version of the Revolution Slider incorporated into the theme, but requires coding to animate with no preview window.

I have built functional animated slides with the full version within Wordpress and tried to drop the created shortcode onto the pages where I want it to appear, but have not had any luck.  I also see no way to import prebuilt slides into the Flatten Theme's RevSlider interface.

Any ideas out there?

@Danny I have tried the FullBox section with shortcode from Revolution Slider... and it does not seem to work...

The section is there, but does not seem to take the shortcode... Did I miss something?

FTY... I have the paid version of DMS... and loaded the section in the child theme... There was a folder inside a folder in that zip..I placed the inside folder in the section area of the child theme...

Tested the shortcode in the content area and Revolution slider works...

Hi there, the section folder needs to be in the child theme with the fullbox folder inside of that. If you can see the icon in the drag and drop like http://screencast.com/t/rSNmwLK15 you've done it correctly.

You will need to save and publish the changes then refresh the page to see the slider load.

@James B

Yes I can see it and have applied it on this page...
Here is the section..http://bit.ly/1e9q7sO

However, slider does not show up in the section...

Can this full text section take shortcode?

It does show inside of content area.

FYI... I did not load the Theme Flatten... This is DMS with child theme.
