buddypress 1.9 no content

Best Answer jbrouwer , 23 December 2013 - 05:50 PM

Hi,

Create a buddypress.php file in your child theme. Buddypress will use this template to load the content.

Add this code to buddypress.php:

<?php
/**
 * BuddyPress: Two columns
 */

get_header(); ?>

	<?php while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>

			<h1 class="entry-title"><?php the_title(); ?></h1>

			<div class="entry-content">
				<?php the_content(); ?>
			</div><!-- .entry-content -->

	<?php endwhile; ?>

<?php get_sidebar(); ?>
<?php get_footer(); ?>

Content appears again, but a diamond shaped question mark appears on top of buddypress content. Any idea what is causing the question mark?

Hi,

Just updated to buddypress 1.9 (from 1.8.1) and the content of buddypress is not loaded on buddypress pages.

I am using WP 3.8 and latest Framework.

I deactivated all plugins and cleared the functions.php file. No difference.

The content is loaded when I activate one of the default wp themes. Hence, the problem seems related to the pagelines framework.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Do you have the PostLoop or Content section active on your template ?

Do you have the BuddyPress for PageLines plugin installed and active ?

Postloop is active, The member username is displayed, the rest is white.

I don't have the Pagelines Plugin installed as buddypress 1.8.1 was working wihout it. Is it necessay? If so, where can I find it? Didn't saw it in the store.

Hi there, I think if running the Framework it's still required. You can download the integration from here -

I have spoken to our developers and they have informed me that with the changes made to BuddyPress it will most likely not work with PageLines Framework anymore. There is no planned update to the BuddyPress for PageLines compatibility plugin, as the focus is now on DMS.

THANKS jbrouwer this worked like a charm!!!!

ALSO before I tried your approach, i reinstalled buddypress 1.8 and everything returned to normal, all was well.

BUT i had already created the suggested file so i updated this back to buddypress 1.9 just in case, so I can see if you buddypress.php worked

AND it did work, WOOOOOWHOOOO excitement!!!

Thanks again

I do not have a child theme.  Do I have to create one or can I just add buddypress.php to my pagelines theme?  I tried that and nothing happened

Hi,

I made a buddypress.php and installed it in my child theme.

I imagine that if you don't have a child theme the logical place (for me ) would be:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

     yourdomain.com/wp-content/themes/dms/

You can download the buddypress.php file that I am using from here if you want:

I will have available there for short time.

I hope it works for you . There is so little help on buddypress and bbpress  from pagelines. since both plugins are important part of wordpress should me more products (sections and plugins) for this. I am still dealing with bbpress.

Good luck,

Luis
