can I have two posts pages?

Question

Is it possible in DMS to have two different pages that I can add ongoing posts to (like a blog would have)?

If so, how do I do that?

Thanks!

I think that is possible but you would have to use a third party plugin for the second blog roll. By default wordpress only allows the blog on the home but I remember reading or seeing a plugin that could be used in pagelines but the name escapes me atm

Yeah by default Wordpress only allows one Blog roll, so in-order to have two you will need to use a plugin (I am not aware of any).

However, you could use custom post types or even just categories for that matter. What is the purpose of the second blog ?

We're starting a new church in Nashville. To see what I'd like to do, look at this church's site: http://gracehillschurch.com/ - and then click on "News & Blogs." The pages under this menu all have separate blog rolls, where the title of the post can be clicked and opens to individual pages. How do they do that all in one website? --thanks a lot for the help.

Hi there, i'd say the best way to get the effect you're looking for is to use categories. Set up the different categories for the different titles you want to appear and then apply the posts to each category.

Then either make a custom menu - http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

Add the categories to the custom menu and drag them in to the position you want them to appear in the menu/dropdown and save so people can select from the dropdown in news and blogs.

Or second option, setup some boxes with a picture and a title of each category and put the link to the category page as the target, so when someone clicks on the box it takes you to that particular category page.

Or third option, use a plugin like special recent posts - http://wordpress.org/plugins/special-recent-posts/ which will allow you to call a collection of posts based on a particlar category and place them on a static page. So you could show 4-5 excerpts for each category with a link to then take you to the full category page, this is the type of effect magazine/newpaper style websites use.
