how to place logo above menu?

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi,

I'm new to DMS, when I upgraded I lost my logo/banner across the top of all of my pages. I tried placing it there but it's really small and the menu is still at the very top - I'd like the logo all the way across the top, with my menu under it. Can anyone help?

-Thanks!

Hello Studio12

On this site you have Fixed Navbar enabled.

You can change this by going to t6he visual editor andn > Settings > Navbar - uncheck the box for 'Enable Fixed Navigation'  - as follows http://d.pr/i/9nZb

You can then add the logo to media box in your header and the nav section beneath it.

Still having problems inserting my logo at top of the page (above menu). I unchecked 'Enable Fixed Navigation' and now have the menu in the right place. But now after I upload image into Section Options (global), how do I get it up into the area? Nothing I've tried has worked. I'm sure it's not this hard, I must be doing something wrong. -thanks for the help

Hi, I am assuming you would like something like this

All I did was drag a media box above the menu and went into the media box options and uploaded a image this can also be done with a text box and html code.

1) I think this would work if the logo is on each page and the logo links back to the home page. I'll give it a try. 2) I'm using an older Mac running OS X 10.5.8 , do you know if that matters as far as using DMS? -thanks

In order for the logo to link back to the home page you are going to have to go with the html option. This page may be very useful for you as it gives the code needed to make your logo clickable http://docs.pagelines.com/tutorials/creating-a-branding-area

As far as the Mac issue that is a question I am unable to answer.

Regarding the Mac question, your operating system has no real impact on the use of DMS. The only time your operating system will have effect is when you're running old applications as the latest versions are available for your operating system such as ancient browser etc... DMS works with all modern browsers, therefore ideally you will want to keep your browsers up to date.
