I want to place a sign-up to a newsletter in the top menu bar

on the site I'm designing I will be using mailchimp.

Found this posting for

"poppy" http://forum.pagelin...y-as-menu-item/

thought by replacing the widget with mailchimp it would work

but it doesn't could you tell what I need to do to get the sign-up

for newsletter in the top menu bar to work?

Add to pagelines-customize functions.php/child theme functions.php....

function be_menu_extras($menu, $args) {

$extras = do_shortcode( '<li class="menu-item menu-item-type-custom menu-item-object-custom">[mc4wp-form type="a"]Contact[/mc4wp-form]</li>' );
return $menu . $extras;
}
add_filter('wp_nav_menu_items','be_menu_extras', 10, 2);

Its the black fixed bar at the top which also has facebook and twitter links.

Thanks,

Sarah,

If you go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus, and you select the menu that you're using for the Fixed Navbar (probably Simple Nav), on the left, you'll see a column of options. One is "Links".

Try replacing the 'http' bit with # and add this to the label field: [mc4wp-form type="a"]Contact[/mc4wp-form]

This placed the sign-up on the header,

thankyou.

But its not on one line !!

Theres no less editor in the

nav bar setup so I can't edit

the css if I can't do this then

I would like to move the sign-up

to the left with facebook

and twitter next to it but when

I rearrange the menu

bars in the said order nothing

happens.

Most Frustrating.

Any suggestions/help gratefully received.

Well, you wouldn't add the CSS into the menu.  You'd only include the shortcode.  Any related CSS should be posted to Custom Code or to a stylesheet in a child theme or PageLines Customize plugin.

If the form doesn't work on a single line, or can't be styled to go on one, then it's probably not advisable to use it in the Fixed NavBar.  Mailchimp will have to support the CSS for that, as we don't provide support for 3rd party plugins.

When you re-arrange the order, in Appearance > Menus, are you saving the menu?

If you have a cache plugin, are you using its settings to clear the cache?
