Question

I need to create a popup when clicking the masthead action button.

Instead of linking to page, I need a popup for the page. Any ideas?

When you click View on Flipper it takes you to the post, so why do you want it to popup ?

Also, in-order to add a custom class to Flipper, you're going to need to create a child section, you can do this by following these instructions - http://docs.pagelines.com/advanced/override-sections

Then you will need to edit the section.php file to add your custom class.

Hi,

What have you done so far to test this? With what results?

I would like to use the pl_modal but don't know how to actually link the popup to a page.

Example: When clicking on masthead action button instead of re-directing to the page I would like a popup to appear of the page content.

I have tried various popup plugins but the shortcodes used in masthead meta don't work with pagelines.

I suspect this won't work.  However, you have an option.

My suggestion would be to use the Textbox, and style your elements within it. I know the modal code works within the Textbox. All you have to do is use H# tags for your text and it should look like the Masthead.

Oh, sorry. Let me clarify.

To make the title part (big text) in the Textbox to look like the one in Masthead, you can do this:

<h1>Title Text</h1>
<h2>sub-text</h2>

Alternatively, you can be more specific, by doing something like this:

<div class="my-mh1">TITLE</div>
<div class="my-mh2">sub-title</div>

You can then make some CSS for each.
Like...
.my-mh1 {font-size: 9.5em;
color: navy;
font-weight: 600;
}
.my-mh2 {font-size: 2.5em;
color: green;
font-weight: 500;
}

Eventually got round to doing the textbox.

I now need the link to the "About Us" page to display in pl_modal instead of re-directing to the actual page.

i.e. I need a popup to display the "About Us" page.

I have no idea how to accomplish this.

WooHoo, got it right. Didn't use pl_modal but Easy Fancybox plugin via the text box. Had to add class="fancybox-iframe" to the link.

NOW, last but not least, I need the same thing for the Flipper Section. I am displaying the featured posts via Flipper but need a popup when I click view.

Any ideas?

The client wants to display the post as a popup.

Got the base child theme.

Will try, no idea how to but will give it a bash :)

That is HTML not CSS or PHP. If you wish to add a class to Flipper you need to locate the View link and add the class. However, what you're trying to do i.e. load a post from Flipper via a popup isn't as simple as adding a class.

It may actually require a lot of custom code, if you're not comfortable in doing this, I recommend you use one of the contacts on our resource page - http://docs.pagelines.com/resources
