Configure Full Width Post Metabar Globally

Question

Posted · Report post

I need to Configure Full Width Post Metabar

So far in the DMS i can only see how to this locally which is no good.

Need to set it to show only [post_date]

This was really more straight forward in the pagelines framework.

Please advise.

Thanks

You do not have to go to each post to edit the meta, unless you're using the local tab. This allows you to have different meta per post.

If you use the Type tab, this will set your meta for all posts. However, the local tab will override it as far as I know.

Therefore, if you're having to edit all post meta, you have being using Local, see the image above, on the far left of the DMS Visual Editor options, you see Type and Local.

Hi,

When you say globally, are you referring to all posts or your blog page and all posts ?

As you should be able to sort by type, which will sort the metabar for all your posts.

yes danny I mean all posts.

not sure what you mean by As you should be able to sort by type, which will sort the metabar for all your posts.

at the moment I have to go into EVERY post loop and edit the metabar config which is not the approach I want to take.

I need to be able to configurate the metabar once so that is it the same configuration on every post.

cheers Danny, that makes sense now, phew the idea of having to edit each individually post would drive me insane

By the way would you know how to remove the year in the date.

Currently I have [post_date] which gives me the day, month and year

All I want is the day and the month.

Thanks

Hi there,

I'm using the shortlinks to customize the metabar (globally) however, they are not working. They just print as the shortlinks with the brackets, for example [POST_TYPE] doesn't actually print the post_type, it just prints "[POST_TYPE]". Any idea what might be causing this issue?

It needs to be in lower case, like [post_type] for it to render the shortcode.

Hi I am trying to configure my clip metabar and it will not work it just stays the same no matter what I put in.

Here's what I have:

[post_date] [post_author] [post_type]

And it is continuing to show the default metabar.

Hi there, when you're in the single post page, in the options are you settings those values in the full width metabar. Clip metabar will be for excerpts like in the main blog page, on a single post page you'll need to use the full width metabar option.
