Hi,

I have recently just got an alert that Pagelines needs updating. I am using 1.4.5, and it says I need to update to 2.4.4.

However, when I try to do this it says that there was an error downloading?

When I look at the wordpress pagelines download page, it says that 1.4.5 is the latest version?

How have I missed so many updates and now its telling me that I need to go to 2.4.4?

Also, somehow with no update, my WordPress login screen logo has changed from the default WordPress to the Pagelines logo as well as several added section (banners etc) being added to my WordPress menus.

How can these things have changed without me updating the pagelines framework?

I am confused as to what is happening here?

Thanks, in advance,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

PageLines Framework is now open source, you can download the latest version from here - https://github.com/p...Lines-Framework

Before you install, follow the instructions below:

1. Connect to your server via your FTP client
2. Navigate to wp-content/themes/pagelines
3. Rename the pagelines folder to something like old_pagelines
4. Now install the new PageLines you downloaded from GitHUb.
5. To do this, extract the zip you downloaded, then upload the pagelines folder to wp-content/themes/

So you themes directory should look something like this in your FTP client:

wp-content/
     pagelines
     old_pagelines
     twentyeleven

Once uploaded, go to your Wordpress Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and activate the new PageLines, check the version to make sure you're activating the correct one.

Once you have done so, you can delete the old one.

*****REMEMBER - Perform a Backup of your site before proceeding, just as a precaution.

Hi Danny,

Thanks for your quick response.

Does this mean that I am basically able to use the full version of Pagelines as an open source theme now?

Also, I am a bit flummoxed as to how several things like the login logo were able to change without me having updated anything? I am surprised that anything within my installation could have changed without my instruction, how did this happen suddenly?

Cheers, Andrew

Andrew, are you sure you haven't already updated to 2.4.4 ?

As the Login menu image will have changed as its an option in PageLines Framework to change it and by default, it will display the leafy logo.

As for the menu items Banners, Features, Boxes, these too are features of PageLines Framework 2.x so if you're seeing them already you most likely have already installed PageLines Framework 2.x

Hi Danny,

No, that was the weird thing, I use wordfence, which sends me emails when a plugin etc needs updating. I went to log in and found the wordpress logo was now a Pagelines logo.

When logged in, I had the extra options, as well as a notice saying that I needed to update from 1.4.5 to 2.4.4. I tried to do ths and it said there was a problem>?

Weird

Yep, I just tested it on a sister site, and all went well.

Hi,

Sorry to post a new question in this topic, I appear not to be able to start a new thread in the Pagelines framework forum.

On my categories and tags pages/archives the page title fails to show, yet shows everywhere else. Any ideas anyone?
