Whenever I try to post on my bbPress forum I get the following error: This topic has been closed. i followed your instructions to put the forum plugins in the bb-templates folder but that didn't work (the plugins didn't appear in the plugins list so i couldn't activate them) so i popped them in the bb-plugins folder. i installed them without the folders (i.e. bb-plugins -> allow-images.php) and they all activated ok. now i get the problem above. i can reply to a post but i can't create a new post. any ideas? it feels like two steps forward, one step back at the moment.

ya bbPress is like that... for this problem, I would recommend hitting up the guys at bbPress.org. They've probably seen it before, and I don't think it's theme related.

did this happen before you activated the plugins? lets start by deactivating them; maybe give us a live link?

So, the Zaerl plugin is important for 3.0 compatibility. let's reactivate that one... I'll go in and test

This fixes a bug with registration and bbPress... (I know, I know)

Sorry this should be in the provided plugins... I will add.

Anyway, it looks like you might need to create another category to get this to work. Apparently the reason you're getting this is because the 'select category' input isn't being shown on the "new topic" page.

so i've created various forums and forums (make this forum a category) and sub-forums. still not seeing the category dropdown. so i thought i'd make my forums look like yours here to clarify what appears to be going wrong. the category dropdown should be a list of the forums shouldn't it? if i make the forums (make this forum a category) then they appear in the sidemenu but i can't click on them. i could only add sub-forums. so the question is... why isn't that category input box showing up with the list of forums in it?

Are your forums "categories" (checkbox)? They shouldn't be...

hmm.. well the code looks like this: `
` So I'm wondering if, for some reason, your forum isn't returning true for 'front page' when creating new topics... either that or `bb_new_topic_forum_dropdown` isn't returning anything. Any way you could test these conditionals?

err no, would be the short answer! i don't know php code and i don't have a local installation of this website in order to debug. unless there is another way to do it?

If possible... are you not too far in that you could try reinstalling the forum from scratch, making sure to do everything carefully and correct. Then if everything works, add plugins one at a time and check each time to make sure they haven't broken anything. And report any error messages you get if you get any. Thanks, Bryan

ok i wiped out all the forum folders. deleted the database tables. reinstalled. i went with integrated install. added the line to the bb-config.php file then i put the PlatformForum files in the bb-templates folder. there are no plugins installed. added two forums. neither of them are category forums. still not working. tried to create a topic and the category dropdown is not appearing.

Ok, Richard this is a strange one... did you post something over at bbPress.org about it? If so, give me the link and I'll check it out... don't worry, we'll get you taken care of; sorry about the issue.
