Flipper with additional Custom Fields / Meta

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi Guys

The ability to add post meta like title, post date etc is obviously really useful, but can it also handle Custom Meta / Fields for Custom Post Types? I note that the meta entry can handle some basic html like <br> but it doesn't seem to handle shortcodes (or php fallback) that would output Custom Fields associated with a custom post types. For example a 'location' for a property etc.

Can you kindly advise if there is any feasible way to do this.

Thanks

Glennboy

Yeah, the below link should help you.

http://docs.pagelines.com/advanced/hooks
http://api.pagelines.com/libs/hooks.html

You could also use ActionMap and/or Hooker. ActionMap can be download here, just install it like any other plugin - http://launchpad.pagelines.com/api/store_free/

Hooker is a Karma product, available on the Store.

Hi Glennyboy,

The Flipper meta field is there to handle post meta, which is documented inline. However, it won't support shortcodes for third party plugins nor php code. If you want to use custom fields or PHP, you should use a hook.

Flipper isn't intended to replace your loop, where custom fields should be placed. Its there to be act as a nice alternative to display your posts preview and when clicked take you to the full post.

Hi Ninja

Seems we are talking a fair bit - thanks for your continued input.

Can you direct me to info on adding Hooks to Flipper?
