Extra space in Media box below logo in header

Question

Posted · Report post

http://docs.pagelines.com/tutorials/creating-a-branding-area

In this section you describe the process for adding a logo and social media to the header.

The problem I have is it is adding tons of padding below my logo. Whats the deal?

how can I remove that padding?

Seems like a very simple thing, why is there so much space at the bottom of my logo?

This is because you have added custom padding of:

20px -40px

Padding doesn't support negative values, if you remove this 20px -40px and set it to 0px 0px you get the following result.

If you add in the Padding shorthand the following:

20px 0px 0px 0;

it should resolve your space at the bottom and look like this:

Andy,

It's not padding, but min-height.  Click on the Media Box's edit icon (little pencil) and then look at the settings for the media box.  You will see a min-height value of 200 pixels. Change that 200 to 10.  That will make the min-height 10px, and remove the extra space above and below the image.

Let me know how it goes.

No I changed that as well it had no affect on the height of the box.

Anything else?

Thank you for the feedback!

It's not min-height..., I've already read that reply on several responses to similar problems.

I had the same problem in one of the hero boxes as well.

Anyone else have any feedback on why there is about 40 pixels of "space" between my logo and the menu bar?

Hi novsun - I don't see any extra space http://d.pr/i/L9rh, so I'm wondering what browser/OS are you viewing it on?

Thanks for the reply!

I just fixed it by removing the two column section. The tutorial(http://docs.pageline...a-branding-area) says to use the two column section but it worked better without it and the extra space disappeared.

Danny,

Thanks, for the response.

Those negative values were left over from my frustration with the two column boxes adding padding to the bottom of the image.
