NavBar - activate dropdowns on hover

Question

Posted · Report post

I have a services page in my site with three child service pages.  e.g.

services

 - one

 - two

 - three

What is the secret to getting the dropdowns in the NavBar to show when you hover over them?

Have tried ticking the "Activate dropdowns on hover" checkbox under the NavBar panel of the global options.

Have also tried disabling the Fixed NavBar and instead adding a NavBar section, but still not getting dropdowns appearing.

Is there also a setting that I need to change in WordPress somewhere instead perhaps?

Love to hear from anyone who has got this working.

Thanks,

Martyn

Martyn,

Please try going to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus and check the Theme Location settings.  Make sure your savede custom menu is selected as the primary menu.  I think what's happened is that your menu has become disconnected from the theme, and is just picking up the simplest version.

Check our Docs at http://docs.pagelines.com/tutorials/adding-custom-menus

Thanks for your reply.

The following was the solution that worked for me:

  1. Menus > Create new Custom Menu (call it topmenu for example)
  2. Add pages to your custom menu
  3. Drag and drop the items in your custom menu to order them and to indent those that are sub pages of parent pages (ie: nest them - this drag and drop nesting and ordering was the bit that I was missing - thanks nick for explaining this one)
  4. Select your topmenu as the default site menu
  5. Dashboard > Appearance > Menus ensure that topmenu is selected and also tick the checkbox for enabling dropdown feature to work

Cheers,
Martyn

None of these solutions work with my site messinascatering.com.  It appears to be only in Chrome.  Is anyone else experiencing or have advice?  Of course, this comes at a time when the site has to be in working order due to a big bridal show.  Please help.

When I view messinascatering.com in Chrome or Firefox I see drop down menus for all but the last two menu items, which do not have drop lists.
