cant get it to match

I did not ignore your question. You can use custom css to get whatever look you're going for.

i have been playing around and trying to get my banner to mimic a page-line showcase website...http://www.johntindel.com/#

i used firebug.. i saw they are using wicker banner
 
i bought it too installed it...
 
and it looks good... when the resolution is large
   
but.. the issue comes in when i stretch the windows small to 300-400 px...

mines looks really bad.. the image like gets super small... the banner wont maintain its minimum height
 
anyidea what to do

i would imagine the theme has specific css applied for the lower resolution/mobile views. Unfortunately we're unable to support third part products in live, however i can put you in touch with the wicker developer who would be able to advise further

mines looks really bad.. the image banner gets super small at browser window width 400px... the banner wont maintain its minimum height

Right, that's by design. 400px height is great on desktop, but far too large on mobile.

yes. i know. but you totally ignored my concern.  i was looking for a solution.  please stretch your browser small to 400px, and  compare http://www.johntindel.com/  to my website, which is http://planet-cyber.net/.   you will see on my website the banner looks awful. but on http://www.johntindel.com/ it still look great. the question is why?
