Question about the magazine layout and posts/categories

Add the following to your child themes or customise plugins functions.php file.

I chose magazine layout under the tab blogs and posts in the layout editor, like this:

I entered one or two full width posts.

 

Now when I view my news category (standard category) I only get to see the clips and not two full width posts and beneath that de clips.

Great! Thanks. But why didn't it work in the first place? Are those settings I mentioned only for the homepage if this homepage is the blogpage, like with five or ten most recent posts?

They don't work by default because Full Width posts for magazine mode only works on your Blog page.
