hi. I don't know what the deal is but I can't get porter to show up.
I've tried putting in the id's and author names but nothing comes up on the site. right under the menu, I see a white bar where it should be but no posts.

Id's and author names? It's one or the other. Do you have a link to the page that the section is supposed to be on?

OK I see the outside of the section in the markup but it needs to be given info on what posts to show.

I've tried a bunch of combinations with it but haven't had any luck.
here's a screen cap of how I have it now.

OK I've got this worked out. It was a true bug. I just pushed an update that's going to add another option field. That field you're filling out, was originally designed to handle ID's like you're putting in , but the query instead was using category_name which of course only accepts one category slug.
So the area you're filling out, only accepts 1 category slug.
This update, adds another option below that, where you can list categories by ID. I've tested this here locally and works like a charm. Let me know how you go about once updating. Had to leave this original option in place so it wont fry anyones site with the update.

is there a elegant or good way to update it?
I reset my account credentials but don't see porter in the list of updated stuff to choose from and update.
is there an uninstall?

Ya so check out the store in wp-admin and in the bottom right click "refresh store". Then head to PageLines--->Dashboard and you should see the update there.

hi. I'm having trouble getting the refresh to work.
I talked to catrina on the chatline. she said, the following and I said I'd check with you.
@imagine what did nick say would be the latest version? what's the number?
on the store on my install it says 1.0.5
i don't know if that's the latest version or not

You can also try to trigger it by going to Appearence-->Themes, then back to Dashboard. I know it sounds weird but that triggers theme updates not completely sure if sections work in that matter as well.

hm. that didn't change it either.
is this the right area? on this page it should show me that porter is updated, and I'd hit it from there?

hi. james on the chat line got me fixed. if anybody else can't see the update, what worked for me was going to the store area > my added sections > and then porter had a blue update button.

I'm still having trouble with getting my porter to show anything. 43 is the id in my url. I tried the slug blog as well but nothing happened.

Right so if you're just using one category, use the option above it and do the category slug. If you need to enter multiple categories, do the next option. I also added this as a note in the More Info box on the bottom there.

ok cool. I got it going pretty good. I see 1 more thing I know the client will fuss on.
in both firefox and chrome, the 'Open Post' link is over the last line of the text and is looking jacked up.
is there anything to be done with that? if the last line of text wasn't there it'd be fine.

Ahhh phooey. Ya so what you can do is use the excerpt box (the one thats typically hidden) to supply a hand-crafted excerpt. I'll push an update to cap that count.
