tabs

tabs buttons and tabs linka tabs

Best Answer James B , 23 April 2013 - 04:39 AM

Hey Suzy,

Just don't put the button in a tab, just leave it outside the tab as a button but inside the tab shortcodes. Like below, then just tweak the alignment to move it down slightly with css.

http://screencast.com/t/1Zwdc31459

[pl_raw]
[pl_tabs]
[pl_tabtitlesection type="tabs"]
[pl_tabtitle active="yes" number="1"]Review[/pl_tabtitle]
[pl_tabtitle number="2"]Info[/pl_tabtitle]
[pl_tabtitle number="3"]Highlights[/pl_tabtitle]
<a class="btn btn-mini" href="http://bit.ly/ZATiOU">GET MAP</a>
[/pl_tabtitlesection]
[/pl_tabs]
[/pl_raw]

I tested in a mobile view - http://screencast.com/t/zqDimc4l4O looks ok, if you find they stack though, take out some of the padding in the tab li to keep it all on one line.

To get the marker in the right place make a custom google map and link to that http://support.googl...87289&ctx=topic

I don't think buttons can be added as tab titles without the tab title breaking. I just tried on my own install and it's not working either.

The tab title should be able to be clicked to reveal the contents for that tab (it's not intended to link to another page). If you need a button link to other pages, you don't need to add these buttons to tabs.

I deleted the duplicate topic you posted since it's the same as this one.

to exist right there on the same line? it needs to stay w the tabs when it's scaled down to mobile, too.

here is the page:

So you want to add the actual map to the tab content area for that tab instead?

no, adding the actual map to the content pane is exactly what i'm avoiding.

it would look very pretty, but i'm afraid to slow the site and to leave the user w a phone stuck in a map area.

i want to link out, and it's best to have all of the info in one place.

Ok, then just add the button shortcode that contains the link to the map in the content area so the visitor only has to click something once to get to the map.

two questions.

1. will it work on a mobile device, and 2. will it slow the site? i'll have hundreds of these.

oh, and it doesn't show the location marker on load. that seems pretty much worthless.
