Hi Nick,

I am using Tabber very successfully on one part of my site but I am having problems on another (http://benidorm-selections.com/map/)

This page has a different map on each tab.  However, the maps don't load properly until I open up firebug or web inspector then they load...

Can you suggest a way to fix it?

Many thanks,

Glyn

Yep its because the js can't draw out the map because the map isn't on the page. I have an update to Tabber coming monday to resolve issues like this.

HI Nick,

I have just downloaded version 1.0.5 and it has stopped loading the maps correctly... can I get 1.0.4 back which worked perfectly??

Nothing I pushed would have stopped the maps from loading. To give the benefit of doubt, I just tested here and it works as expected (only better as the previous posters have noted).

hmmmm.... very weird.

I have tried deleting all my custom CSS and disabling my plugins but it is still the same... It worked wonderfully immediately after the update.  The only other thing I've done is bought your 'Better Carousel' plugin today but I have deactivated that too and it's still the same.  The page is at http://benidorm-selections.com/map/ and as you'll see it has definitely gone back to how it was... is there anything else I can try that might fix it?

The last update, added display: block. That's it. That would not have caused your maps to appear like that. http://cl.ly/image/1J201j3c2r0f

Here I have maps, on the second tab, and it's displaying as it should: http://cl.ly/image/3O272C0r0D2z

HI Nick,

It really doesn't help me all that much that you can get it to work... I need mine to work!  I can equally send an image of it working - all I need to do is to open Firebug or Web inspector and the page will load - but I need it to work without having to do this.

So now I am back at my original question. Please can you give me any advice how I can get this fixed?

Any help is most appreciated.

Many thanks,

Glyn

Hi Glyn,

Nobody else has reported any issues at all with this, so I'm wondering if it has to do with whatever plugins is drawing the map out. Google Map embeds don't have any issues at all with this, and in fact there were previous issues and complaints, which is why an update went out in the first place.

Their have been 2 updates within the last 6 days to Tabber. The update before last, moved the not-visible tab-pane off the screen with position absolute and left -10000px. This update, allowed Google maps to properly draw out on the invisible tabs.

Then, a bug report came in, which had this nasty 1000px space at the bottom, so display:block was put into place to keep the flow of things.

Nothing I did was out of the ordinary, and in fact is perfectly normal (and ironically the preferred method) of display:none, instead of actually using display:none. Unfortunately it's impossible for me to account what other plugins do, to the content they display. Tabber's ID fetch function, is getting the_content with an applied filter. As far as what else I can do on my end....if you have any guesses I'm all ears. I honestly don't have an explanation here.

What you can *try* to do is permanently revert the fixes with below, but not sure how it will work for you at all.

  #site .tab-pane {
        position:static !important;
        left:0 !important;
}

As a bonus, here's a screenshot of the differential between before, and after. Hopefully this will help your situation.

HI Nick,

No joy I'm afraid....

Thanks for trying anyway.

Cheers,

Glyn
