PostPins Use post excerpt instead of first 25 words

Question

I really think there should be an option to choose the post excerpt OR the first 25 words.  It makes way more sense to have post excerpt be the default.

Hi there, this has been made as a suggestion for a future update previously, so its something which could be added in the future.

At the moment the only way I'm aware you can edit the number of words available would be to copy the postpins section folder and make any modifications to the code, then place it inside your child theme as a new section.

Hi,

You may not be aware that the number of words in PostPins is controlled specifically by PostPins, no matter the source of the excerpts.  Even if the text is from a manual excerpt, it will still be limited to 25 words.  The source of the excerpt really doesn't matter as 25 words is fixed within PostPins' code.

To modify the section to accommodate a larger number of words, you'd need to engage one of our Pros.

An increased number of words in PostPin excerpts really doesn't help the look and quality of the postpins. Too much text defeats the purpose of the PostPins serving as a teaser to get visitors interested in the full article.

If you're looking for some way to display blocks of posts with longer excerpts, there are other ways of doing this, using plugins. Let us know and we'll be happy to guide you.

@Loraxio: just use this code and go to line #187 and change the value.
