Fixed Size Feature Box Width

Best Answer James B , 28 March 2013 - 03:27 AM

Hi there,

So you want the feature slider to stay at a certain width whilst the rest of the site acts responsively? Is that what you mean?

You could set a fixed pixel width using css for the feature slider. If you've not used css before please see - http://support.pagel...ion/custom-css/ which gives you an overview on the tools to use to find the various selectors to edit the css. All css can be pasted into the custom code box.

To set the width of the item you'll need to be looking at using something like the below, but you'll need to see in the firebug or chrome inspector exactly which elements to apply it to.

#features {width: --px;}

I would like to have a fixed size feature box width as opposed to changing with the size of my theme/canvas.

Any idea how to do it?

I am using the old Platform Pro 1.6.0. :(

Hi James,

Yes. As of now, the width of the feature follows the size of the layout/main column. I want my feature width to be smaller than the layout/main column. :)

Alright, I think I know where to start looking at.

Thank you very much.

I tried a few of the feature div and stuff, it didn't work. When I inspect, the entire feature width is under "IMG". :/

#feature

#feature_slider

#feature_area

Take a look at my site: http://jasonlioh.com/photo/

The feature width is 1000px, which is same as my layout/main column 1000px.

I would like to increase my layout to 1200px but my feature width stays at 1000px. Changing my layout width to 1200px will also change the feature width to 1200. :/
