WP-PROPERTY plugin with pagelines - Featured property not displaying as feature

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi, I use this plugin (wp-property) on a couple of my own sites, and I had posted a question about how could get around a few things like (loading a picture/media file) a year ago but could not find an answer. This issue seem to have corrected with WP-property one can simply use the plugin and go about using its functionality with pagelines theme.

One of the sites I use it on is http://www.warehouse-gurgaon.com/ and it was working just fine until when I noticed today  that the property picture is not showing as feature on top after I use it as featured on property page. When I use the same plugin with the 20/10 theme at http://www.delhirealestateguy.com/, it works just fine and loaded pictures with each property show up as featured picture on top of the page. This seem like a minor glitch. Can someone take a look at it for me please..Thanks!

I was referring to adding your img HTML code to the ContentBox Section options field, therefore there is no visual/text tab. Just follow the instructions I provided above.

I have visited both pages and I am not able to see any featured image on either page?

Hi Danny,

Thanks for looking into this.

You will have to see the "property listings" on both websites to be able to see what shows up at the featured image area on top of the page on each website.

Please visit http://www.delhirealestateguy.com/find-a-commercial-space/ and then click on any of the property listings that show up on the page below. For example the second listing on this page is http://www.delhirealestateguy.com/find-a-commercial-space/7000-sq-ft-office-space-for-rent-at-okhla-phase-3-new-delhi/ This shows the featured image on top of the page. Its on the 20/10 theme.

However, if you go to the other website's (pagelines theme) listings page http://www.warehouse-gurgaon.com/warehouse-listings/ and click on any of the listings, you will not be able to view the property image as featured image on top. It keeps on showing the features sets I had set up on pagelines. Ideally, it should show the property image as feature.

Hope this is making sense! Thanks,

I apologise but I am not quite sure what you're referring to. Are you meaning the Image in the sidebar ?

If so that is a widget, you need to enable the widget in your sidebar for it to display on your PageLines site.

No, image on top of the page.

For example on http://www.delhirealestateguy.com/find-a-commercial-space/7000-sq-ft-office-space-for-rent-at-okhla-phase-3-new-delhi/ its shows the (cropped) building image on side bar as a featured image on top of the page.

However, if you go to the site http://www.warehouse-gurgaon.com/warehouse-listings/ which is on pagelines theme the property image will not show up as featured on top.

OH, I see what you're referring to.

This isn't a bug, Twenty ten has that banner/header image as a feature and the wp-property must utilise this. PageLines Framework doesn't provide this kind of functionality. Therefore, it wont work.

In order to have this kind of functionality, you will most likely need to use custom code. I would recommend contacting the plugin developer for advice.

I see what you are talking about the 20/10 theme. But I am positive about this. I have used this plugin for over a year now and like I said it was working just fine until last week, on warehouse-gurgaon.com with pagelines theme. The image used to come up as featured on top even with pagelines theme.

And in fact if you use this plugin with any other theme (most) the image will show up as featured on top if the picture is big enough.

Like I mentioned above, some themes have functionality which this plugin may hook into, such as the feature image being used as the header for that page when using Twenty Ten, PageLines out of the box doesn't provide this functionality. In order to achieve this look you would need to use custom code via a hook.

However, I have just this moment install/activated the plugin and then gone to PageLines > Drag & Drop, select the Page Template and then the Property template. I then added the ContentBox section to the template.

Once added, go to your Properties and either create a new one or edit an existing and then scroll down, you should come to the PageLines Meta Settings area, from here select the ContentBox tab and use HTML for example:

<img src=Link to your image">

And click save.

It should display this posts image at the top of your Property page, you will have to do this for each property.

To do this automatically, you will require a hook, for more information on hooks see our documentation - http://support.pagelines.me/docs/customization/hooks/

In order to call the feature image, you will most likely need to implement this into your hook.

Thanks for explaining this in great detail.

I am trying it manually as you suggested above andI can't find the html tab on content area while editing a property template however, its there on a regular "post" or "page" . Can you tell why, there is "visual" and "text" instead of "visual" and "HTML"

Danny may have forgotten that with WordPress 3.5, they changed the wording from HTML to Text to avoid confusion because many people complained that they thought it was a coding area, rather than a place to see the text view.
