Jetpack sharing

Best Answer Danny , 19 March 2013 - 11:44 AM

Not sure as to why ShareDaddy is adding itself to the tabs content. I have reported this as a possible minor bug.

In the meantime, you can use this CSS to hide Sharedaddy from the sidebar.

#sidebar-wrap .sharedaddy {
display: none;
}

Hi I am using Jetpack and I have the sharing module enabled.

Since I updated to framework 2.4.1 the sharing module appears twice on my site. Once where it should beneath the post, and again in the sidebar. I am not sure why this has occured so any assistance on the matter would be appreciated.

Hi,

The one in the content area is the social icon sharing system built into PageLines.  The one on the sidebar is brought to you courtesy of the Sharedaddy plugin.  Our sharing icons from the content area cannot be placed in the sidebar automatically.  You can only do this by manually adding them via shortcode or, by plugins which may place them there in widgets you apply to the sidebar. In this case, Sharedaddy.

Check Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets for that sidebar and I'm sure you'll see the appropriate widget.  If you remove it, they'll disappear and if you replace it, they'll reappear. Check the plugin's support or settings for options to turn them off.

Sorry I'm a bit confused. I don't remember using any shortcodes or widgets for share buttons in the sidebar and I can't seem to find any. See attached screenshot 1.

If you use

or Chrome's Inspection Tools, you'll see that the social media in the sidebar is coming from Sharedaddy.  It appears to be placed in the Most Read tab of the tabbed area on the sidebar.

I found a link to that plugin:

It may be a Jetpack add-on. It's definitely not coming from PageLines. See the image below:

Yeah that's what I thought originally. Any ideas as to why the 2.4.1 update has caused this to occur.

The code im using for my tabs section shouldn't display the share buttons.
