How to exclude something from a and a:visited styling

You can use a.pure and add the color you want for it and text-decoration: none

How can I tell something to not be given a color blue for links or an underline for a:hover or a color purple for a:visited? Is there a class or some LESS or something that says "let everything else have the default link stylings but not this link"? I don't want to force a specific color or force no underline, etc. I just want to nullify the default link stylings.
