I have been checking my site the entire time I have been working on it in Firefox - through Pagelines -view site & it looks fine.

Today my husband looked at it in IE & it is horrible!!

1. the main nav menu is in two rows and not aligned on the page at all

2. the images in the features sections look totally different & not in a good way.....

3.  I am sure there are many other issues that I have no idea about! &

Hi,

Centering the menu and equally spreading the menu from left edge to right edge is not necessarily an easy task but not all that difficult.

If you would, please try this in Dashboard > PageLines > Site Options > Custom Code.  Adjust padding:  10px 15px; to padding 10px 29px; and it should spread the menu full width.  I was able to test this in Firebug (which I highly recommend) and it worked for me.  Let me know if this works for you.

.main_nav ul li a {
    -moz-border-bottom-colors: none;
    -moz-border-left-colors: none;
    -moz-border-right-colors: none;
    -moz-border-top-colors: none;
    border-color: transparent transparent -moz-use-text-color;
    border-image: none;
    border-style: solid solid none;
    border-width: 1px 1px medium;
    display: block;
    line-height: 1em;
    padding: 10px 15px;
    text-decoration: none;
}

Hi James B

Thanks for that, I would have spent an eternity looking how to fix that IE problem !

I appreciate all your help

I am still having an issue though - there has been some sort of change (well change back ) to my menu items which I did not want.

Before I started trying to fix the IE issues

my main navigation items stretched all the way across the page - I did this by using the following information I got from Martin Davies & Rob

.main_nav li a {
  padding:10px 28px;
}

#nav {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #000000 !important;
}

I can still see this info. in the Custom Code area (where it has always been)
but the menu is not stretching across the page like it originally did before I began my journey to fix the IE issue

I am not sure why the info. is there but not showing up??

Thanks again,
Chrissy

Hi Chrissy,

You have added custom code to your branding area, we are unable to provide support to user created code.

Can you disable all non-PageLInes plugins and see if this resolves your issue, if it doesn't please remove your custom code and see if this resolves your issue.

*I apologise, you havent added custom code, you're using a third party section called Business Branding. Therefore you will need to contact the developer either via email or in the store products forum.

& if I did I don't know what it is ??

In the images you provided above, the areas that are not displaying correctly are areas associated to a section that is third party section called Business Branding. As this is third party we are unable to provide support, you will need to contact the developer via email or by posting your issue in the store products forums.

I did update my previous post, with this information.

The footer area of your site you're using a social widget, this may be the cause of your layout issues on IE. I recommend you replace this widget with one of the default Wordpress widgets and see if the layout issue persists. If it doesn't then the layout error is caused by the widget.

Would you rather increase the space between the link items or just move them to the right so they're centered?

I would like them to look centered across the whole middle area

for example the Home start at the top left of the features section and the contact us end the side bar area

Thanks, Chrissy

I'm another victim of the Internet Explorer issue.  Site is fine in all browsers except IE - http://www.alicehyde.ca

Advice would be appreciated.

- can't include a screenshot (can't take one using Parallels).

Thanks.

James.

I just found a solution that worked for the 'mess that was' at www.alicehyde.ca...a reset of IE.

...found the solution on the IE site.  Took about 5 minutes, and just needed a restart of IE.

Suggest trying this, in IE: tools/advanced/reset.  ...then restart IE.

Best...

James.

Hi Chrissy,

You're using PageLines Framework version 2.2.5, the latest version is 2.4. I recommend you perform a backup of your site, as a precaution and then upgrade to the latest version and this should address your issue.

Hi Danny

Thanks for your quick response.

I updated as you suggested but that didn't do the trick.

Now in IE

1.  The items in the Header, Page Area, & Footer are not displaying properly.  They are stacking on top of each other, the side bar is under the content area & the footer is out of line as well

_

_

_

_

_

instead of  _ _ _ _ _ _

2 The features section disappeared? from all pages

I hope that makes sense??

Thanks, Chrissy
