Sites is ranking poor with pageLines

Question

Posted · Report post

Hi!

I have a questions. All my sites i am building with PageLines framework are very slow and get poor ranking on various ranking sites. Now i thought i would try by just taking a fresh WP site, put in Pagelines and nothing else, and the same thing happens. Very slow and poor ranking. Why is that.

If I do the same without Pagelines the ranking is excellent. I don't want to criticize Pagelines because I love what you are doing. But this is a major problem.

Any ideas?

OK, we take this seriously of course.

  1. You mention your sites are slow, but do not mention where or whom they are hosted with.
  2. You mention poor ranking, ranked where? Who is ranking them and based on what parameters and what are they comparing your site with?

Peter,

I ran a Pingdom.com test http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/cddG77Rjp/http://pehjaproduktion.se

Testing from New York, NY your site wasn't really all that slow, but any delays occurred before PageLines even loads.  If you look at the second of the two images below, you'll see the load time is 1.49 seconds wait time for the server to display the URL.  That's a hosting or server issue, not PageLines. Then, you have 2.26 seconds wait time for mcsf_action=main.css, which appears to be Mail Chimp.

Cumulatively, those two issues alone account for 3.75 seconds wait time out of 6.56 seconds. Essentially, if these issues are removed, with WordPress, PageLines and any PageLines customized code you may have, images, javascripts, plugins, etc, you'd have a load time of 2.81 seconds, which is excellent.

I would highly recommend using Pingdom to diagnose each of your other sites.

I am hosted by wopsa.se. I think they have what it takes to run a fast webpage.

And i have several sites on that host with and without Pagelines. And my conclusion is that all my sites

running PageLines have trouble getting good ranking. And they all have a slow time to load as well.

This is not rocket science, this is a feeling I have. I am a designer not a programer so I havent spent

a lot of time digging in to what it is and why. So if I am the only one with this problem it is no problem..

Hi Pehja,

Would you send me the URL to one or two of the PL sites?  I can run some tests and tell you what the problems are for both SEO and speed.  I use PL for almost all site builds and constantly get them under 2 second load times. Concerning SEO - I just setup a website on Pagelines less than two months ago and already have a PR3 without any SEO work done on it... so the platform isn't the problem... but that doesn't mean that you don't have a problem.

Reply with the URLs and I'll take a look.

Best,

Steve
