Standard Navbar and Responsive Design

RWD responsive navbar

Best Answer Danny , 07 February 2013 - 09:00 AM

Firstly, I am not 100% sure that this is indeed a bug, I was comparing the responsive design to that of Bootstrap which is what the Fixed Navigation is based on. However, this could be a design choice by our developers. I have created a bug report so we can get confirmation on this and as soon as we do, either myself or one of our other support team members will reply and inform you.

If you wish to hide the search on mobile devices you would want to use the Browser Specific CSS plugin and use the .mobile class in your CSS. I have provide you with a link to our browser specific css documentation.

Hi there,

As you can see

, I would like to understand why my Standard Navbar doesn't change when viewed on iPad portrait mode (768x1024 pixels)?

I know I have to find the correct trigger (@media) and change the width value (as James advised me on PageLines Plus chat yesterday) but after spending almost two hours into PageLines compiled CSS, I can't figure it out...

Any help please?

Jean-Philippe

HI Jean-Philippe,

To be honest, this may actually be a minor bug, as I have tested Bootstrap and that navigation is responsive on all devices. Therefore, I have reported this to our tracker for investigation.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Thank you for your answer Danny.

This problem happens when there are many menu items besides the search field.

I noticed the same issue with the Fixed Navbar.

I hope this minor bug will be fixed soon.

While waiting, maybe I should use a trigger code to hide the search field on mobile device?

Ok, thank you very much for keeping me posted!

I will use the Browser Specific CSS plugin right now.

Should I close this topic?

Yes @Simon_P, and there is a problem, no?

It should display the collapse menu instead, am I wrong?

Because this navbar on 3 rows is quite ugly, don't you agree?

I understand I have to change the width value from 767px to 768px.

Could you please tell me which trigger(s) should I change to display the mobile type menu?
