Target first clip on blog page in CSS

Best Answer catrina , 17 January 2013 - 04:22 PM

To target the first clip, you need to target the container it's in and use the selector (the ID number for article) in the CSS. Please see the screenshot from Firebug below:

Hi,

does anyone know how to target the first clip on the blog page in CSS?  There is extra white space on in between the meta information and the start of the text.

I can remove the space on all clips with ".fpost .post-excerpt {margin-top: -20px}.fpost .post-excerpt {margin-top: -20px}" but I only need it on the first one.

Many thanks,

Hi Glynt,

Do you have

or use Chrome's Inspection Tools? Either one of those could be very helpful.

What I've found is that there appears to be some custom code affecting the post metabar and the content.  I'm unclear yet which element it is, specifically. There appears to be quite a bit of inline CSS on your site. Perhaps its a conflict.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply.  I deleted all my custom CSS and found that it was still the same so I don't think it's that.  I can use Firebug, and in doing so I found and extra '<br>' added that is not in my post (see screen shot below) and it only occurs on the first one.

Thanks,

Glyn
