different color links in sidebar

Question

Posted · Report post

is it possible to have links that appear in the sidebar be a different color than the content links?  I can see via firebug that all the links in sidebar and page content are controlled via the <a> tag

here is a link to my site.

http://themonarchhouse.com/site/blog/

as you should see, I've added a soft grey background color to my sidebar widgets.  I would love to have the links in sidebar be white or black.  the content links can stay the orange color.

any suggestions or tips would be apprecated.

As you know, this code is present in your site:

a {
    color: #F37D39;
}

That's the orange links.

Now, if you have those links within a custom class, you could apply the changes to that custom class.

So, if your list of links was wrapped in something like <div class="myrecentposts">list of links<div>, you could apply

.myrecentposts a {
    color: #F37D39;
}

Of course, this isn't easy with pre-defined lists. But easy as pie if you create your own.
